Has anyone had any problem with the driver side window. I have an issue when i press the botton up the window sometimes goes down. I took the car in for this issue and the service manager told me that they would greese the track and it should get better. it happens all the time and my patience is running short on this issue. Is this happening to any other members?

 

You know the driver's window has auto up and down. Maybe you are pushing it to far down.

 

There's actually a TSB out for this problem. You can check this thread in the 4G garage https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-2009-2014-123/4g-tl-technical-service-bulletins-tsbs-701767/ . The link to the TSB is listed under 2010 "TSB 10-014: (2009-2010 TL) Power Window Goes UP and REVERSES on it's Own, Is Slow to Open and Close, Or Squeals, Creaks, Clunks, or Clicks" I've noticed this happen on rare occasions, but haven't reset the window unit yet. If you bring it back to the dealer, tell them you'd like them to perform the TSB procedure to reset the control unit.

The link in the 4G garage doesn't appear to be working at the moment, but I did save a copy of the TSB and have pasted the particulars below on how to reset the power window control unit.

BACKGROUND
The information in this service bulletin addresses three power window problems that are not currently covered in the service manuals.
SYMPTOM 1
When using the auto-up function, the driver’’s or front passenger’’s window goes up and then reverses on its own.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The power window control unit needs to be reset, or the run channel is damaged or dirty.
NOTE: Do the power window control unit reset procedure first. If the window still doesn’’t work, go to Symptom 2.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE: You must do the manual reset from the power window switch at the affected window. For example, if you’’re resetting the front passenger’’s power window control unit, do it from the front passenger’’s power window switch, not the driver’’s power window master switch.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Lower the window all the way down with the power window switch.

3. Open the driver’’s or front passenger’’s door.

NOTE: Do steps 4 thru 7 within 5 seconds of each other. Do these steps a total of four times in a row. These steps clear the control unit’’s memory.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

5. Push down and hold the power window switch.

6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

7. Release the power window switch.

NOTE: Make sure the auto-up feature doesn't work. If it does, do steps 4 thru 7 again, paying close attention to the 5-second time limit for up to three more times for each series of steps.

8. Lower the window all the way down with the power window switch.

9. Pull up and hold the power window switch until the window goes all the way up, then keep holding the switch for 1 second.
NOTE: Make sure the auto-up/down feature works correctly by lowering and raising the window with the power window switch. If it doesn't work correctly, repeat the manual reset several times, paying close attention to the 5-second time limit. If it still doesn't work, troubleshoot the power window circuit. Then continue with Symptom 2.

Nice response. Because why ask if the steps were followed first. I can tell you the steps DID NOT work when i tried it.

Since some individuals are having difficulty with the instructions, maybe a re-write is in order.

 

my 3G type-s did that every now and again, and BOTH my 4G's do it... specifically when its very cold out

 

yup the control unit procedure fixes it....as well as on some 3g tls too....if it still does it id say you need a window regulator

anyone ever able to get this working? I tried this on my TL and it didn't work.

I tried so many times and cannot make sure the auto-up feature doesn't work.

I also assuming steps 4-7 the window is still down right? So how does step 8 make any sense to lower the window all the way down?


Any help is appreciated.
