Driver door lock button not working '09 TL
Looking for some advice before seeing the dealer..'09 TL SH-AWD TECH
Recently the driver side door lock button stopped working, but unlock by touching handle works. The passenger side works fine (both lock and unlock). This happens with both key FOBS when near the driver door. The doors lock and unlock normally using FOBS as well as with physical key. All 4 doors lock and unlock as they should. It is just the driver side button? No sounds or lights when pushed either. I also changed the batteries on the key FOBS too. The only thing I have not tried yet is disconnecting the car battery and reconnecting.
Is there any other troubleshooting that I should try?
Thanks

I was able to fix mine with a can of compressed air. Second time it stopped working I decided to "dissect" the handle button... lots of corrosion on the connector inside. Patched it up with some soldering and works fine. I hesitate to spend big bucks to replace since I am pretty sure it will happen again.
Low quality part, Acura!
PS. Also once in a while you may want to use the actual key to unlock your car. That key cylinder needs to move once in a while otherwise it will get stuck/corroded. Some "pb blaster" of course fixes everything... don't overdo it, "pb blaster" is too powerful, the doors may fall off LOL LOL.

Tony, do you mind explaining the steps to take the handle apart after removing it from the door? Mine had the same problem (water must have gotten inside) and it stopped working for a while. Now it works again but I'd like to be prepared for next time it happens.

acupower,
Preventable with some compressed air after car washes... but who really has the time for that!
It took some very delicate surgery involving a Dremel, magnifying glass and superglue. I improvised by cutting the outside first, along the top edge where two pieces of plastic meet. Then the inside of the handle behind the button became accessible and easy to pry out the button. I got lucky and didn't break anything. You need to get immediately behind the button to re-attach the connectors and fix the corrosion issue. Then re-attached and glued everything together.
Cost-benefit analysis is pointless, because at my billing rate (for my real job) the time I spent buys me the entire door and all components on it - lol. Just did it for fun. But if it breaks again I am not going through another week of driving with no handle and going to replace with OEM
PS. To prevent all this... at the car wash stick some tape on the button and key hole to prevent water from going in there. Especially in the Canadian winters when sub freezing temp ice forming in there can expand and disconnect wires!

^ despite my surgical attempt a few months ago, it gave up again. I'll try resetting the codes this time around.
