Deck lid spoiler leak

Anyone else have a leak coming out of their deck lid spoiler? Every time I wash my car or when it rains, water gets caught inside the spoiler and it slowly leaks down to the bumper.

I have a base so I had the dealer install a deck lid spoiler. Not sure this is the case with tech models before I bring it back to the dealer.

It doesn't look like the spoiler was sealed where it meets the trunk. Should it be?

Thanks.

Hope this works. Not the best pic but I had to zoom close so you can see the water leaking. The leak is only coming from the right side of the spoiler.

I think a lot of water is trapped inside the spoiler as this leaks for a long time before the dripping stops.

this is why i have a electric leaf blower.. its cheap and makes drying alot faster, gets rid of all the runs that occationally happens in door handles, side mirrors, cracks on bumper and such.

This isn't a problem...it's an accessory part with gaps that trap water, taking this back to the dealer would be the equivalent of taking the car back because some water leaked out from around your gas cap after you washed it...

I agree. Check out install instructions for installing it.

I don't think the dealership can do anything about it, unless the water starts to leak into the inside trunk compartment.

put some sealant around where the spoiler meets the trunk, if it bothers you that much. I get the same thing and usually just "shake" the water out by opening and closing my trunk a few times.

I'd actually be afraid to seal it as you might do more harm than good by trapping water in there.
