My car is randomly not turning on. I step on the brake hit the start / stop button and nothing happens. Dash board lights and head lights turn on. We have checked all fuses and relays. Mechanic was able to turn over the engine by giving the starter direct power. We have connected the scanner and it’s not able to read (note we have used this scanner in the past no problem). I have a video but it’s to large to post here I will try to upload and make smaller. Any suggestions is appreciated!

 

Forgot to mention 2009 Acura TL with keyless access system.

 

Start by checking fuses and go from there.

 

We have checked them all under the hood inside the car and they are all fine.

 

Found the Problem. The BCM went out so we had that replace. Key and engine computer had to be reprogrammed.

 

Would you be willing to share more details regarding:
1. how you/the mechanic were able to diagnose this? and
2. how the reprogramming procedure was done? I suppose it was done at the dealer?

I think I'm having the same issue right now...
