A/C Temp Differences...Between driver and pass
A/C Temp Differences...Between driver and pass
I am having a problem with the temp of the air coming out of the vents with the a/c on my 09 TL Base with Tech Package. I can set both sides at the same temp and the right side will always blow air colder than the drivers side. It just started during this. It has been in the upper 90's her the last few days so it is difficult to cool the car with this problem. I would say when the car is going down the road at an average speed of 45 or so the temp is off by maybe 10 degrees.
I am thinking this might just be an inside temp thermostat problem. Anyone else have this problem? I am wondering where they put the inside thermostats in the car.
The car is out of warranty due to miles so this will have to be on me so I am trying to figure this out so I don't have to take it to the dealership if possible.

Did that yesterday and it still does the same. I can even pulled the car into the garage and it still does the same thing after letting it cool down overnight...

I know that the driver's side thermometer is just under the key fob slot. It's a strange vent looking deal. Pretty small. Here's a link to Acura's parts listing for the solar sensor. http://estore.honda.com/epc/asp/rjane007.asp

okay, to make the link work, click on it and just below the "image not available" box, click "please click here to try again". Now on he left side mouse over " body/ air conditioning" and click "a/c sensors". Then you should see the diagram.
SENSOR ASSY., SUN BEAM

and also try this link: http://estore.honda.com/asp/printpar...g&hidBlockId=B 61&&popup=1
hope that one works for ya
will not list a part number, but you can order it through the honda e.store. I could not find the interior sensor, but I'm sure it's there if you search the parts catalogue long enuf. If you sign into myacura.com you can have access to the e.store.

It turned out to be low on freon....so if any of you have the same problem, just have some added and it will blow cold again!
It is weird how one side was cold and the other was warm, but this is how the Acura TL systems works when low.

so did you have the leak repaired? i think all a/c systems function like this, meaning when low on refrigerent the farthest vent will feel warmer? why you ask, think about it, the location of the evaporator is center/right center under the dash. the center vent and pass vents are obvioulsy closer to the evap, but the drivers is the farthest from the evap and the blower motor. so natrually the air being pushed by the motor through the evap will loose its "coolness" by the time it reaches the drivers vent. that with the combination of a low performing a/c system will cause this regular complaint.
