Blind Spot Indicator stopped working

Hey everyone,

Our 2012 TL-AWD has been working great but yesterday I encountered our first problem =/

The blind spot indicator stopped working and there is a "warning" light on the dash.

Has anyone experienced this before? I can take it in (14k and under warentee) but if it's a fuse or loose wire some it's easier to do it myself (I'm a gearhead).

Any info would be appreciated - I did a search but couldn't find much other than the sensors are under the left/right bumper area which I will look to make sure the connections are good tommorow.

Could you have inadvertently turned it off?

That would be the first thing I checked (pushing the button to the left of the steering turns the system on/off), but if that doesn't work the message you see means there is an error in the system that will need to be diagnosed and repaired. It usually means one of the sensors or control units is not working properly and they might need to be replaced.

You're probably correct, but just to be sure, you have to hold the button down for a few seconds before it cycles on or off.

Have you been driving in heavy snow ?

The owner's manual says when snow or dirt gets accumulated close to the rear radar sensor(s), the BSI system will shut down by itself.
