My 2009 TL SH-AWD has a drive line howl when driving. It's not overly loud but I was surprised to hear it coming from my 2007 TL. My transmission also seems to up-shift early almost making the car lug. Is this normal? The car is a CPO with 30K. Is it time to call the dealer?

if you hear or feel like anything is abnormal with the transmisson get it checked out I had a dealer ship replace my 07 si the transmission made a whooopbing nosie kinda like curly from the three a stogies dont let anyone ever drive a manual tranmission car thats worth alot

 

Had the same issue. I called it a whistle noise but I think howl sounds more accurate. It turned out to be the propeller shaft if I remember correctly. There are bad bearings and the whole shaft has to be replaced. Hopefully ur under warranty cuz it costs around $1000. Mine only made the noise once the bearing warmed up after 3-5 minutes of driving. Sound also goes away once you are almost completely stopped.

 

mine have a same problem. i can hear the noise and feel the vibrate when i hit 30- 35. i tho that cause from the new RV6 Pipe. but it wasn't. i went to the dealership and they told me that happened because of the transmission converter is recalled. its caused the vibration when i hit 30-35. however the problem is solved. u better call and check your dealership if your is recall.

 

I have seen some issues with the propeller shafts on these making noise. its the center bearing that is making the howling sound.
