This is my first winter with the 2009 TL SH-AWD, and I have to say that I'm not impressed with the braking and handling in the snow. I've had 2 instances when I was literally "skiing" when trying to stop at an intersection, and once I was drifting uncontrollably out of my lane while cruising on the highway. I'm not a reckless driver, and I do take snowy situations seriously.

Anyone else experience similar problems with the SH-AWD TL?

 

SHAWD doesn't do anything for you when stopping in the snow... Plus the factory All Seasons suck. I swapped mine for Dunlop Wintersport M3's and my car is a tank in the snow. Drove thru whiteout conditions and complete snow covered roads and I could not get it to break loose.

 

Yeah, our stock all seasons definitely suck! Check out their survey scores on tirerack.com and you can see how much everyone else hates them too! What's sad is that they still cost $209!

 

Go with the Continental DWS - amazing in wet and very good in snow - top rated tire on tirerack in the UHP class of tire. Great tread wear rating and very quiet too.
