2012 TL Tech, issue with display brightness during night time

I tried to look around to see if anyone has the same issue, but didnt find anything similar to the problem I'm having. It's the navigation display brightness during night time, when headlight switch is on Auto and/or On.
During daytime, if I turn the headlight to ON, display will still be bright (as it detects bright light?), which is understandable. Cluster display (the little display in the odometer cluster) will automatically adjust its brightness depending on the outside brightness (it dims when I go through tunnels, and brightens up when outside again). The main display (nav unit) remains on bright throughout. This, I dont have a problem with it.

However, when it's night time, odometer cluster remains dim the whole time while main display would randomly turn to bright (as if it's during daytime) for a quick second or two or three, sometimes it would stay bright until I adjust it with the brightness button that has 3 modes (bright, dim, and off). Even after the adjustment, the problem occurs again. I got frustrated and just turn it off (thank god it stays OFF). It only occurs at night-time, regardless if Map is active or wallpaper screen is shown. I tried reset all settings to defaults, both from the Navigation and odometer cluster. Problem still exists.

I included the youtube video I extracted from my dashcam, maybe someone can look at it and tell me what I need to do to fix this problem?

Thank you all in advance,
RD
