Hey guys,

I bought a 2012 TL Elite Shawd and the past few days I have been experiencing some odd noises when turning the vehicle. It sounds almost like what a broken bearing would sound like on an older civic of accord. The sound is a very faint grinding noise when I turn left or right especially when I turn in circles.

I took the car to Acura and the mechanic said its normal and it's just how the Electronic Power Steering sounds on this TL.

I'm quite confused as a luxury car like this would have a noise like this for simply turning. I'm aware of the noise the steering wheel itself makes which is ok with me, just concerned about the grinding noise I hear from the outside when I turn.

 

Doesn't "sound" normal to me. My 2012 doesn't do it.

 

I experienced a similar faint "grinding" while turning with my 2012 TL FWD. My noise was cyclical and almost sounded like a failing wheel bearing. It ended up being a stuck break caliper on the front driver side wheel. Thankfully covered under warranty. I would definitely get it checked out.
