My 2012 TL with 114k miles just had a "Check Charging System" come on. Without too much information out there, does the TL have alternator issues or can that error come up do to battery issues is all?

My alternator failed at 111,000 miles.

 

Alternator crapped out it turns out. Also, had my timing belt changed for the 105k miles as scheduled. There goes $2k that I will never see again.

 

I have recently had the timing belt replaced at a dealer and now a few days later it’s making the whining noise again. Only this time my battery light on the dash is lit and I get the message saying “check charging system”. Do you think this could be my alternator? Also have you had any problems since your repairs?
