2011 Acura TL weird noise on acceleration
Hi, I own a 2011 Acura TL SH-AWD.
As soon as I got this car, I got the timing belt replaced, along with a few other things in that department. Before I got the belt replaced, I drove this vehicle for about 1-2 weeks? I had no issue what so far.
After my timing belt change I started to hear a weird noise about a week in or so, the noise sounded like something is being pumped. This would happen on higher speeds, so about 60/kmh even if the RPM is under 2k.
I went to the mechanic whom done my timing belt replacement and he said it had nothing to do with my belt and my car has a lot of functions in it, so he isn't sure.
The noise would stop upon slowing down, and coming to a full stop.
Earlier today the noise started happening at about 40/kmh
I'm really not sure what it is, I'm thinking about going to Acura to get it checked out.
Any suggestions?

By the way, thanks for the reply.. I've been stressing a lot about this.
Everytime I drive, I check my KPA on tires, and my back is always low, like 210 KPA but my front is good. Also, when it makes that pumping noise, the KPA goes up. So what do you think I should do?

KPA won't have any effect on the issue. An incorrect alignment causes the tread on the tire to wear unevenly. When you rotate the tires, the wear patterns are going to change for all tires thus causing improper contact with the road. This improper contact leads to a multitude of noises that increase with speed. A simple visual inspection of the tire can verify the issue. Usually the TL will have bad wear on the inside edge of the tire where it's uneven and causing noise.

Anyway it could be your propeller shaft. Normally is sounds like a kettle whistle or a whine. At least the first TL I drove before buying mine sounded like a boiling kettle. But when mine started up, it sounded like a screech and I thought it was my brake pads. Upon suspending the car on the lift, it sounded more like a squeal. Normally it sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side.
You want it to be 220 kpa cold. That's 32 psi.

Just as a crazy thought, since you had the timing belt service done it could be air in the cooling system for the car. The system needs to have the heater turned on when draining and putting in new coolant along with bleeding the system of air. Not sure how loud of a "pumping" noise air pockets in the cooling system could produce.
any tire shop can do a visual check and see if you need an alignment or something more. If you could post a picture of the tread of the tires from the rear of the car and the front that would help immensely and save you a trip out!

When you mention the noise decreases and increases, does it continue at the same pace when going at the same speed? If you use the paddle shifters to downshift one or 2 gears, does the noise change pitch? If it changes pitch it's engine related, if not it's something tire related. Doubting it can be a cooling system issue as that shouldn't be really vehicle speed dependent as much as RPM dependent.
EDIT: Heading to bed soon so I might not reply until after work.
To bleed the cooling system you just take off the radiator cap, put the heat on max and let the car run for 15-20 mins. The radiator will burp out any air.

1) I start up the car (cold start)
2) Drive for about 15-20 minutes at speed limit, no noise (Engine is warm by now)
3) About 20 minutes driving in or so, you hear some inflating / deflating / pumping noise quietly coming from the front at around 60km/h
4) If the speed gets increased to around 80km/h or even 100km/h it gets even louder and louder
5) Coming down to a red light and decreasing the speed to about 40km/h to a full stop you won't hear anything
6) Start accelerating again, hit 60km/h noise quietly occurs.
