guysI'm having issue w my charging system. Last night while driving msg check charging system came on. Got home. Check battery . Only 10.2v. Hooked battery to tender over night. Batt is 12.9v and its brand new battery. 3/23.start car checked amp draw at alternator nothing. Checked voltage at battery nothing. I just replaced the alternator 2 months ago for same reason. Took it back to autozone installed new alternator. Now chargingBatt voltage 14.1v with AC on.The badTurn off acc and voltage drops to 12.5v and back up to 13.9v for 5 sec while driving. And keeps doing it.​​​​​​1turn AC on. Stays solid 14.1vwhat is going on?

 

I have read, if you did not buy Oem alternator you will have issues

As far as I know, these are the modes of a smart charging system, with a small load, the alternator works to support the battery voltage, and not to charge.

 

im not sure, but if you do a search u will find others with similar issues. There must be some circuitry in Oem that aftermarket don’t have. If mine goes out Oem is going in. I’ve seen too many charging issues with non Oem. Do the search and u will see
