Overlays by BlueBatmobile and Driven Dynamics
Hey all, I finally got my hands on BlueBatmobile's overlays and had them put on. My tail lights are from Driven Dynamics while the front are from BlueBatmobile. I however did some extra trimming to the overlays to get a smoother effect that I liked. Sorry if the images are poor, taken with my Blackberry Bold.

The overlays by Driven Dynamics came out to be $80 and overlays by BlueBatmobile were $32 (that includes ice blue fog overlays). The overlays by Driven Dynamics are a lot thicker (Lamin-X) and not vinyl like BlueBatmobile's. I like the Driven Dynamics ones.

Ice...your tints look excellent. I highly recommend BlueBatmobile tints. They are cut perfectly, excellent materials and they go on easily.

I missed your car when it was in the shop. I would loved to have seen how this turned out in person. Looking good all around but definitely need some daytime pics.

Unfortunately this is an inhouse job only. We hand cut the film at the time of installation base on customer requirements. Unfortunately, there are no templated pieces to offer.
Sorry!

Pretty much, like Klassic says, there are no templated pieces but they can cut the Lamin-X film pretty much to any requirement you ask of them. They are really good at following the lines and make the film seem machine cut. But I'm sure if you really want them to..maybe I can bring my TL and have them cut it in a way you want them to and can sell to you for the labor/materials put in?
Depends on Klassic though..

Making money aside, I could do this (with Ice's help), but to tell you the truth there is some degree of difficulty in getting the material on perfectly. With curved surfaces you'll always have some trimming involved, even with the best precut peice. I really don't mind having the guys cut you a design for a DIY installation, but honestly I don't think most people would be able to apply it and trim it right the first time. It may just be an excercise in frustration and wasted cash.
It's a better idea to save your money, buy a peice of Lamin-X and take to a tint shop in your area and have them knock it out there. Most tint shops probably even stock Lamin-X off the bat.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Here's the response I got:
B,
Just responded to the thread. Unfortunately, this an in house job only
since it's a hand cut application right on the light itself. We don't have
access to computer cut templates as of yet.
I'd suggest picking up a piece of Lamin-X directly from the company and
having your local tint shop cut it your specifications.

There's nothing mean at all Ice, you said that not me, but it doesn't help what I want? I'm looking for a service, not advice on what to do? I don't know the first thing about overlays, and I'm looking for a one stop service, so why would I recommend someone who tells me to buy Lamin-X and then take it to the tint shop, when someone else can do it all, especially for cheaper? Ya feel me?
I got another response today:

This response is much better, but I'm not driving to Maryland for overlays.

B - Nah I feel you. Took me a while to find ANYBODY in Maryland and was really supportive when I finally did find someone and someone who were good. I wish you good luck in whatever Ryan has to offer you for tint shops or the Bat, but definitely post rides of the ride!
I'm getting the CAI fabricated in next week if anybody's interested in the process!

You know, I saw a black TL on the road on rockville pike on a weekend one day. And since there aren't that many 4G TLs in MoCo, PGC these days, I'd say it could've been you. A guy was driving it though and by the sound of your username, your a girl lol.
But yes! Most definitely check out Driven, they give great customer service, I need to get my tints redone since this dude in Laurel did a horrible job..I have bizillion air bubbles forming on my rear view.

BTW, I talked to Klassic not too long ago and I'm going to check out what the shop has going on this Wed. What color did you go with on your fog lights? I want to say he told me they have 2 different blues but don't quote me on that. I'm not going to tell you what color I want to go with on my fogs but that Laminx only comes in so many colors right now.

What are you talking about? I am a guy. Naw, I'm all woman and no guy touches my baby lol. I've been looking out for your car since I first saw the pics on this forum of your overlays but haven't seen it yet. I'm sorry to hear about the tint. I'm dropping Gina off tomorrow at 9a to get tinted. I want to go with 20% so bad but I don't want any issues with the police behind it. Have you had any issues with being pulled over because of your tint? I just think 35% is so light. The shop I'm going to has 30% so I may just go with it.

Two different shades of blue? When I was there, they offered me one shade..BLUE lol..that should be all day have..but to be honest to get the fog lights overlayed. It's a waste of money, if you want a different color..buy a different colored bulb because the fog light is so bright that it blocks out the overlay.
If you want to meet up sometime so you can check out the overlays before you head over there that's straight. I'll toss you a PM with my number and you can just send a txt or whatever. Most of the time I'm either in Rockville or CP since I'm still in school (UMD - Graduating!!)
EDIT - So apparently I can't send you a PM...probably since you're new
I got 20%, fuck 35% and I haven't been pulled over for tints. Actually I've been pulled over a couple times, I'm a speed one lol and never got asked about the tints OR the overlays.

I want to say he told me that they have a blue or ice blue or something like that and some kind of graphite or something that is a bluish-grey or something like that. And that's pretty disappointing about the light being so bright that it can cancel out the color of the tint on the fogs. I really wanted to get something so you guys will know it is BlackGina when you see me around the DMV lol. I'm still going to try my best and I've seen some colored bulbs online so I may be able to hook up something. Do you have colored bulbs on your fogs or you don't have anything on them? And I would love to see your overlays in person. And yeah, I haven't done my 15 days in the junk yet for this site but I think it will be over soon and I'll be able to post some pics. Maybe we could just meet near the IKEA or something on a Sunday for a few so I can check them out so let me know what's good.........And an early congrats on the approaching graduation, my sorry ass is still in school and I'm 31 lmao!
Agreed on the fucking 35% tint lol. I dropped Gina off this morning at 9 for tint and just got the call that she's ready. Would the police ever pull someone over for having the overlays? I love the way they look on your and buckvegas' cars.

Guys, I can personally recommend Blue Batmobile. I have his 6/10 half tints on my Type S and love them. They were easy to install, look great and wear very well.

I was in front of MSP the other day on the way to Annapolis...he followed me for probably 3 or 4 miles in the middle of the day and he didn't bother me....Technically they can pull you over for it in MD, but I think they have alot bigger fish to fry!
