Matt's Blacked out TL Lowered on Vossen CV3's (Matts Acura)

I have done some minor updates to the car.
-I changed the cutoff shield to a darker color (Carbon Silver)
-re-painted the bezels in the headlights to match the color of my wheels. I felt like it was a little tooooo dark up front so wanted to add some contrast.
-I re-painted the rear boomerang thing back to black
-re-did my chrome trim
I had originally did my chrome trim in plastidip and then did a top coat of duplicolor on top. I decided to just go matte black on the chrome trim this time. I had planned on actually painting the chrome trim but honestly the plastidip held up so well I decided just to stick with it.
Anyways had a ton of overspray from the plastidip so I gave the whip a good cleaning. I think I'm going to do another photo-shoot soon. Maybe user_error and I can get some together.
Cellphone Pic after a nice wash!

Thanks man, I used Nexson a acurazine member who paints things for people. I tried painting it myself but.... I just didn't have the right tools and experience to make it look as good as him. Highly recommend him.

I am using the TEIN S tech Springs
The rear tires are 10.5" wheels 255-35-20
The Front tires are 9" wheels 225-30-20
The ride quality feels about the same as stock just a lot more tight. It does hurt a little more when I hit a big speed bump though. I'll upgrade to coils or air at some point but since the ride quality is OK I'm not going to rush it. Once I blow out my stock shocks I'll look into upgrading.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks!

Hey noticed u said earlier in thread. That u steering felt a little lose. Was it new tires. Or size of tires? What u did to fix it? Or it's same? Does it cost vibration ? Can I explain and if still happens n what to do

Thanks man! I did all the hard work driving. Haha j/k all the credit goes to user_error for nice photography.
I think it was due to the small width of the tires up front. I am use to it now and it feels normal. I would maybe go with a slightly larger width tire in the front so you get a little more contact. A 235 up front would probably be better than the 225 I had.

I had vinyl wrapped the roof trim at one point. It wasn't that difficult and was probably easier than the plastidip. The hard part is doing the doors. The top of the door chrome is still easy it's when you get down to the lower part. The rubber doesn't have a really good lip to cut against so it makes it pretty hard to get a clean cut. The Plastidip just peels right off of the rubber so it's pretty easy but the down side is the overspray can be a bitch to clean up.
I did mine in a flat black to add some contrast. I don't think I would ever do it in shiny vinyl but BuddyTL did his shiny and it looked really good also.
Mine was starting to look crappy since it had been on for a while and I had used duplicolor on top of it without a clear so the paint was starting to fade. I had a meet the next weekend and I didn't have time to order vinyl and apply it so I went with the plastidip again for now.
If your thinking about doing it I would probably recommend vinyl for the longevity but the plastidip isn't bad and it does hold up. I'm going to get some of the 3M 1080 satin black and do mine in a few weeks. The better the vinyl the easier it is to apply; I tried some crap that the BMW guys use called shadow trim.... It is by far the worst vinyl I have ever touched in my life. I think electrical tape would be better lol.

After some research and some inside info I've figured out that using "Vinal" is what makes it so hard... Using 3m "Wrap" is the easy way to do it... it actually releases the air rather than trying to push the bubbles out the side like Vinal... plus it can be pulled back and adhear again... so when you go to buy new stuff buy 3m "Wrap" not vinal... plus it has far more stretch and shrink capabilities...

Yea the 3M 1080 seems to be the way to go. From what I could tell the Avery wrap I had was waaaay better than the vinyl. Never really knew there was a difference.

Yea, you can go up a width in the rear but the 255/30/20 is going to be the most cost effective. I trust eazy's recommendation for the front since he also ran vossens at one point and time that were the same size.
Thanks! Hey no problem, I posted up my stuff so I could help people out. A week isn't bad on back order though, I've heard of people waiting months for wheels but as popular as Vossens are I'm surprised they don't have a Vossen vending machine on every corner haha.
Yea that's pretty much their standard for those sizes atleast for the acura and bmw.

Hey two things I had a mind blank last night you can rotate the front left tire to the right front wheel and get some extra life and vise versa... Also pull you Alignment spec sheet what was your toe at on the rears? They way they scalloped I'm thinking you've got some toe or balance issues on the rears that caused the odd wear... not just the camber...

Yea, It looks like I was skipping across the road or something. Still cant believe how ate up they were. I tell you what though, the stock tires are soooo soft. Feels like I'm driving on clouds.
