Now that is pretty cool! Did you cover or paint all the chrome trim pieces around the windows and over the top black?

The black grille insert would go nice with this too.

Not usually a fan of the black roof on white car, however it looks great on your ride. Keep up the good work.

All was done in matte black vinyl. We will do the front grille and the back bumper trim. It took the shop almost a day to do it because took a while to take out the top chrome trim since it was a first time working on a new TL. So the shop book me next week again to finish up all the other trims.

Thanks for the comments all! I was aiming for the AWD TL but since I read that staggered wheels are not AWD friendly, I opted for the FWD.

^ I might do that but see how hard will it be...
But I might do the front grille and the real bumper trim in real carbon fiber.

Thanks. I always wanted a white color car. I like the contrast of the black and white scheme. I'm in the process to see if I can generate enough people who is interested in doing a real carbon fiber grille and rear bumper trim. If so I might do a group buy. Will keep you posted.

Well I didnt owe or pay them any money on the RL. I guess it really depends on certain dealership. For me, my friend is the manager at one of the dealership I go to.
Typically there isnt any fee you need to pay unlike BMW where they request like a deposit fee or what not.

On the 12 TL, they rollover the mileage from my RL on to the TL which is 6000 miles and Acura also give me an additional 1000 miles for being a loyal customer. There was a $750 incentive and the my friend give me $1000 below invoice. So instead of 12,000 miles annually, he give me 10,000 miles annual since I got a total of additonal 7,000 miles - 37,000 miles for 3 years. And the $750 incentive goes toward my license fees and other fee. So I didnt put any money down or anything. 1st payment was paid for.

Really great work - I love what you've done with your ride so far.

Can you post the details of your wheels, brand/size/offset?

I like it. i might have opted for a glossier roof, but it looks good regardless..

LOVE what you did to the spoiler. any plans for the factory underbody spoiler?

Nice! You might remember me from the RL forums. I remember you and your RL. I too am and RL convert! Back to you car though, I've always liked the black roof on a white car look. Although if I were to go that route I would like a glossier look, maybe even carbon fiber. Do you plan on changing the shark fin to a black one?

I made it matte look because all the door trims, and the tail lamp are matte finishing. So I like the whole matte scheme.

Actually I am waiting for the Ron Jon Bodykit. But if the production of the Ron Jon Kit fails then I will consider the full OEM kit.

Yes I remember you from the RL section. I like the matte look because I match it up with all the chrome trims and the tail lamp was matte finished as well. I will paint the shark fin just that it was late and didnt have time to finish it up. Took the shop almost a day to work on my car.

Unfortunately I am located in Los Angeles. The tint shop where I goes to does vinyl wraps here. But I think you can find a tint shop in your area who can do similar works.

Great work KB1Spec! Glad the wheels were able to fit from the RL. And the black roof really pops!

Thanks! I really like the white and black scheme. The guy at the shop said they want to put some matte black strips on the bottom portion of the doors and run it across. So might do that next week.

The wheel fit perfectly and no rubbing issue or fender roll. But the rear there is some negative cambering so I need to fix that.

The TL looks very sexy. The matte roof has not grow on me yet, maybe once you finish painting the antenna and put some tint it should blend together and will look better. I've to give you credit on the CF trim you did on the deck spoiler, it looks flawless. Unfortunately my deck spoiler on my RL is too small to make that effect. I hope you didn't mind me twitching the colors a bit and also made your corner light clear. The work wheels look way way better than I expected on the TL. Overall you have made a big progress and looking forward to see more coming.

Hey Oscar Thanks for the compliment. I will clear out the headlamp soon. Just that weather been kind of hot and I'm too lazy to take out the bumper in the hot weather. Maybe I'll do it around Sept or Oct when the weather cools down lol.

The shop is going to finish up some vinyl this weekend so I'll post some picture over the weekend.

So I talked to my tint guy and he advised me not to do the roof wrap. He said he's done it on the hood but on the roof (especially with the FL sun) its likely to mess up. And he also scared me about taking it off if I wanted to sell it telling me the paint can get damaged and at the least won't match the car. Lol so guess I'm not doing it; but I'm wondering what u heard about the risks of doing this

The vinyl I used is from MacTec. 7 year outdoor protection. These vinyls are typically for outdoor signage that you might see on storefronts. All new cars have clearcoat to protect the paint so it will not affect any peelings of the clear coat. I did a roof wrap on my 2008 RL before and I took it off before my lease was up and no problem or what so ever about the paint. I had it on for 3 years. Also I usually parked outdoor during the day at work and park in the garage at home. I think FL and CA sun have the similar effects. The vinyl also plays a major part. So if you do want to roof wrap it, get a brand named vinyl.

Did you use the same Mactac 9800 vinyl on your tails and signal as you did on the roof? If so how well does the light come through?

No...the matte tail lamp is this off brand and it was something new that one of my friend got. To be honest, I really like the matte look of the tail lamp because it matches everything that I did with the matte black scheme. BUT to me it was a bit dark. During the day, when I brake, the light is visible. At night parking light or brake light it still visible as well. What I like about it is that when I wash my car and when I use a towel to dry it, it doesn't leave any scuff marks or light scratches. Thats goes the same for the matte black on the roof and the door trims.

I really like the matte tail lamp. I have a few people on the road asking about it if I spray painted. I said no. I even sold a few people locally and was happy as well.

Went to local car show meet and saw a 3M Di Noc carbonfiber in person I'm highly considering doing this on my RL. Just wondering if this will be an overkill . Just a thought.

Have you ever seen the new 3M 1080 vinyl?

You should check it out sometime.

It's was made for automotive purposes opposed to Di-Noc being made for architectural finishes lol

Awesome UA8 OP!
