2010 TL SH-AWD Tech 6MT Pics
It's been a beautiful weekend here, so I detailed the car and took a few pics this afternoon.
Even though I've had it only a month, I'm really loving everything about this car! I know alot of people don't care for the styling of the 2010 TL, but I quite like it.
I'm thinking of adding the front & rear spoilers and the side skirts as I think they complement the styling without going over the top. If I can find a good tint shop in Denver, I'll probably have that done as well.
Hope you enjoy the pics....

Great Pics!! That is one clean car. The first photo looked like a flat black paint and it looks great!! You definitely have a talent for photography. Great car, great pics and I also don't give a hoot what people say about it on this forum because all I have had in the "real" world is compliments one after another.

Same here with "real" world encounters, everyone I've talked to actually compliments the new look. The 3G I had was really good, but the 4G I'm finding to be great.
Appreciate the compliment! I'll take a few this week and post them, interior shots can be a bit tricky with the lighting, but it'll be a fun challenge.
The real "problem" is not being able to keep my foot out of it as the power & AWD are just way too much fun!

Beautiful ride, even better photos!
I agree on the styling, everytime I look at mine I think "Damn.. that's one hot ride" Can't wait till I get the tint/headlights/RJ Legends... Spring can't come soon enough

Nice pics, and some nice angles!
Which camera/lens did you use?
I just picked up a Canon EOS T1i outfit. I'm eager to try to take some pics of my car as well. Any pointers?

I think a pointer that most people forget is that the optimum lighting for your car is right at dusk or dawn, before you get the reflection of the sun coming back at the camera lense and also get shadows distorting certain areas.
However, nice pictures as well, I am also waiting for interior pictures!

I think the 4g's look better in darker colors (which saddens me because White with a black interior is my preference in color combo) and while the grille is still not growing on me as I would like the car looks pretty darn sharp.

Canon makes some good glass as well. If you can, look at picking up a good "L" series lens from them to improve over the normal "kit" lens that comes with most DSLRs nowadays. They can be expensive, but they are higher quality. (Like high-end speakers for a home entertainment system, can make a huge difference in the end product)
The best thing about DSLR is you get instant feedback on the images and you can adjust on the fly easier than with film. Get real familiar with the controls and using manual mode so you can control exposure, aperture, shutter speed etc. I also use Adobe's Lightroom to organize and process my images. But most of all, just take a ton of pics & have fun doing it.

Definitely lighting makes a world of difference, the so called "golden hour" after sunrise & before sunset can produce excellent lighting (and not as harsh or contrasty as mid-day). That's why I waited until late in the afternoon to try and capture the sunset lighting on the car and it seemed to work out well.
Thanks everyone for all the great comments!

I'm one that doesn't care much for 4G exterior styling, but your pics have me scratching my head. The interior is gorgeous. And maybe the outside is growing on me some.

I'm not sure what's up with this, but I've got a surprising number of compliments on the car's looks after I bought mine.
I knew the car's looks were controversial for some people, but I didn't care...it was just a very good buy and a very good combination of performance and features.
So many people actually liking what the 4G looks like was a huge surprise to me, especially after reading up on the car at enthusiast sites like this one.

That changed when the 2010 came out with the 6MT and I spent time test driving it a couple of times. I find myself really liking the exterior styling because it is so different. I've always liked the interior of the Acuras I've had and I think this one is the best yet. (Better than my 3G TL and much better than my E46 wagon)
This also seems to be one of the few cars I've bought that I don't see alot of on the road. Which makes it a bit unique

great shots man...love those interior ones. Your car's paint color looks different in some of the outside shots haha

I nominate Stuart for the resident photographer of the 4G TL
Quick question, from memory I thought the back lit controls for all switches and knobs were green? Can someone confirm or correct me? Thanks.
BTW, great interior shots. Really shows the true quality of the interior materials.
Looking forward to more pictures when/if you get the time.

Thanks as well!
The backlit controls are a somewhat cooler white/blue hue, I guess to match the blue interior lighting.
I'll try not to disappoint with the next batch of pics...

i like that Acura kept the blue light, that is one of my favorite features on the 3G because i have never seen a stock car with them.
@Stuart, what camera are you using/Lens. I have tried to take interior shots put they come out blurry (using xsi w/ kit). And Great photos.

Thanks!
For the exterior & interior shots I used a Nikon D80 w/ Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. The lens was more expensive than the camera, but it's quite fast and incredibly sharp!
The exterior shots were easy compared to the interior cause I had really good lighting at sunset. To get the interior shots, and avoid using flash, I setup the tripod in the back seat and used a shutter speed of 3-5 seconds. I took a couple from outside on a tripod as well with the windows rolled down and the seats fully reclined.
Even without spending an arm and leg you can still get some nice shots. If you have a tripod available (a remote shutter release helps even more), setup the camera on manual (so you can choose the aperture & shutter), set the aperture wide open (probably f/3.5 -5.6 for the kit lens) and choose a shutter speed of 5 seconds. If you can select manual focus, do that to prevent the camera changing focus on you. You can then adjust the shutter speed to your liking if the 5 second exposure wasn't right on.
The tripod is really the essential part as there's no way to handhold at those exposure times. It might take a few attempts, but you should come up with some shots you really like.
If you do make sure to post them up too
