Pcd - cel?

Can't find anything recent, but do the new PCD's from RV6 throw a CEL?

if so, what can be done to get rid of it

Not sure about the new PCD's . Some people have successfully removed CEL by playing around with the spacing of the O2 sensors. If all else fails, you can purchase the K Tuner which will disable the CEL.

Best bet is to contact Richie @ RV6 and run the same question by him.

If properly installed there should be no CEL.

The pre-cat deletes come with defoulers to space out the o2 sensor, if it throws a CEL you can try adjusting those by turning them in or out

And, if all else fails (which it shouldn't) you can always K-tuner it out!

We have the RV6 PCD's in stock, ready to ship here: RV6-PCD-TL-4G - RV6 Pre Cat Delete - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist

Good luck!

It won't go away. Nothing wrong with a used K Tuner, just make sure it's unlocked from the seller ECU.

Forgot to mention, if you decide to add a J Pipe at a later date the rasp will be real.

I have PCD and no check engine light. I did but it was due to the defouler being loose.

I have PCDs, Jpipe and full exhaust and there is a lot of back pressure but it puts down good power and it's loud. Also have it custom tuned. If you want to avoid the rasp, get high flow precats (HFPC).

It's definitely loud. Next step is getting it tuned, and mayyyybe hfpc. Canadian dollar sucks right now, so need to slow down. So far no cel, the shop I went to did a great job installing

Maybe you made a mistake in your post. You already installed the PCD correct ? if so then you don't need the HFPC. Perhaps you mean you want to install a J Pipe ?

Both J-Pipe along with PCD or just the j-pipe alone?

That's in reference to PCD with an aftermarket Jpipe.

Curious how that combo sounds with stock exhaust.

"CarbonTSEX" gave you the correct answer. The J Pipe with third cat delete as a stand alone mod will give you any rasp and will enhance the tone slightly.

With the reference to time to install mentioned in another thread. The Removal of the Second Cat is difficult due to limited space. It is time consuming and if you are going with HFPC the re installation is just as time consuming. If replacing with PCD then the install is simpler but it is still difficult to remove the Stock Cats.

I stayed away from the PCD' s mainly because of the rasp and gas smell. Love the HFPC and J Pipe combo though.

Whats the difference in gains? Slightly more for PCD since it's just a straight pipe but how much more?

Couple of questions...... did you purchase the PCD new from RV6 ? Did you get spacers with it ? Did you scan to see what code you triggered ?
Not sure if the defoulers came loose but many times the CEL will not come on immediately, they will come on after the ECU senses a particular parameter is constantly registering over X number of kms . Also far as i know certain driving style will trigger the CEL, gearing down from high RPM and pulling to red line.

I know my car was running rich with the Mods but without the tune. After the tune I am getting a near perfect air / fuel mix.

We cant really give you advice on how to correct the code unless you get it scanned. From there we may be able to steer you in the right direction. In my case, you could move the defoulers with your hand so it was easy to tell. Not sure how they came loose but it was an easy fix.

I as well love the HFPC/J-Pipe combo as well. I also have the Ktuner but running on base map... I'm sure car running rich even with the base map because every now and then you can smell it especially when gearing down or coming to a stop from flooring it. Love my set up tho but ain't had much time to enjoy it since I did it right near winter started. My reason for HFPC just simple... ain't want that gas smell with the lil princess in the car. And "supposedly" have more low end TQ.

One guy in here actually did it and ended up installing his stock J-pipe and I bought the aftermarket one from him... He said the exhaust was deeper and more growl to it but prefer the PCD'S with the stock setup.

Yeah I remember reading his review.

Mine just smokes more than it stinks. Wife says she can't tell and doesn't mind it.

Sorry I never learned how to use the multi-response, but Stevesin, glad to hear the light went away.
