I'm very interested in the Jpipe and the HFPC - anything to let the car breathe easier sounds great. I've got a 2012 SH-AWD auto. Can anyone recommend a shop or individual in the Northern IL area that could perform the install? I'm about 60 miles west of Chicagoland

This is why I'm hesitant to pre order the cats... I hate waiting and I don't like paying for something that's not built yet...if u had them in stock I would buy then fast

Oh course.
You can purchase the deposit and final payment with 2 separate translations. Once we get the preorders taken care of things will do much smoother.

Depending on if you want ceramic coating or not. Uncoated sets can ship around Wednesday. Coating gets picked up and dropped off every Friday so if you pay before Friday it will ship the following Friday. But you have to pay first before they are sent off to be coated.

Oh my god - why did I think this thread was only PCD - I didn't know there was a HFPC!
Edit - anyone have an idea how much a shop would charge to install the HFPC?

THANKS RICHIE!!! Got my pcd today, and threw them in, great top end power band, once the runners open up the engines rpm just climbs.
I highly recommend anyone doing the pcd, if you took your stock resonators out....you might wanna put them back in, because with the j pipe, and NO cats, it gets loud and raspy, gonna have my resonators back in probably next week, ill post a video clip of before and after.
I also recommend anyone who has any kind of a doubt about ordering from rv6, to just do it, it took 4 days from the day i put in my order until it hit my door steps. good work richie, thanks again!

at $100 labor rate, your probably looking to spend anywhere between $250-$450, at least thats what i would charge at dealer cost, cut that in half if you take it to a mom/pop shop....

I dunno on that one. The stealership says the way to do it is to drop an axle and would probably charge you $400+ (to change a rear cat on an AWD TL). Everyone that's talked about it on here says to take them out of the heat shields on the head and then muscle them out the top (probably scratching the hell out of the firewall in the process).
Still haven't seen a good AWD DIY.

Your right, taking off the passengers axle shaft is a lot easier, and won't scuff the paint, but you can muscle it out the top. It's not so much to bulkhead that's stopping you, it's the main engine harness, once you clear that it will come out.I should have taken pics but I was to excited to get them in. Took about 2-2.5 hours, I had to take the Pcds out 2 times to align the secondary o2 positioning so the front harness would reach the connector.

I received a set of ceramic coated Rv6 Hfpc as a Fathers Day present and had them installed today.I already have the Rv6 j pipe so i am happy to have matching parts.
Here is my initial impression, the car feels like it takes less effort to accelerate especially around the 3k to 4k rpm range also it add a really nice tone to the stock exhaust.
I feel that the combo of the J pipe and Hfpc is a great alternative to an aftermarket exhaust,it sounds great and there is no rasp or drone, also during regular driving or at highway speeds it is as quiet as stock.

Would you ever make a video clip of your setup? I also currently have the RV6 J-pipe, and would like to add hfpc, but just want to make sure there's not rasp or a much louder exhaust tone.

Can't really tell the cats are changed. I didn't notice any sound difference in the J pipe and cats. Defintely no rasp, drone, or even cabin noise. With the windows up and A C blowing on low I can hear the AC fan over the car. Funny because in a drive thru I hear the engine in the front of the car but nothing from the exhaust. Does sound good when V Tec is at work but you'll never hear any additional noise from the HFPCs. Maybe when starting the car up cold and the idle is a little high but nothing really audible

Also, are you running a stock exhaust? I know these are "noob" questions. I'm just trying to go the most cost effective route and the route that makes the most sense.

I'm in NJ. The dealers around me won't install this for me, Princeton Precision Acura and Park Ave Acura. Any one around the NJ/ NY area? Which dealers/ garages did you guys go to to have it installed? I want to get this done right, so I prefer a mechanic with experience.

I noticed in your signature line that you mention that your are "collecting deposits" on an exhaust. Does that mean that you guys are working on an exhaust for the 4G TL or am I just wayyy off base.

I'm asking because I didn't see any mention of it in previous threads or posts.
