eBay Deal: Slotted and Drilled Rotors and Pads

Anyone seen this deal? Slotted and Drilled Rotors with Ceramic Pads for $320.00 shipped! To good to be true? They look like the StopTech rotors.

Any opinions? Worth Gambling on?

So I came to Learn that Centric makes StopTech and PowerSlot and also R1 Concepts.. but I was wondering the difference in quality if you already had ordered. After much debate I'm looking at R1 Slotted and StopTech Slotted Rotors. Have you already made your upgrade?

First of all, don't waste your $$ on drilled rotors...Slotted are fine..If you want quality rotors, look at http://www.heeltoeauto.com/ and scoop up some slotted racingbrake rotors...

You get what you pay for. R1 concepts is not STOPTECH. Centric also makes multiples lines of rotors, a basic rotor, a premium rotor and then of course STOPTECH's sports rotors.

If you want a good setup I'd recommend our AZ brake package.

Excelerate, please give your opinion on drilled/slotted rotors versus slotted only.

Thanks....

For a street car it's going to be the same either way. The drilled/slotted just look nicer. However, I got some great info from STOPTECH at one time. I'm pasting it below:

Drilled are more prone to cracking in motorsports conditions. Drilled has the most bite followed by drilled/slotted, then slotted. On a street driven car, the appearance of the parts will have more of an impact than the performance difference as most drivers would not be able to feel a difference between the 3 options. All with have better bite than stock. Any track vehicle should use slotted only as that will be the most crack resistant.
Drilling and slotting is more about increasing bite than cooling. Some can argue that the added surface area can improve cooling as can turbulence, but it is marginal at best. Then again the weight reduction is also marginal so both arguments are somewhat moot.

The real amount of cooling a rotor can offer is going to be based on diameter and mass, as well as airflow through the disc by way of the internal vane structure.

Josh is it true that the slots in rotors tend to build up debris/brake dust?

How come? If they get filled out wouldn't that make them useless?

Those slots are usually wide and shallow, and thus hardly any debris is able to stay inside, especially given the constant grinding action of the highly abrasive aftermarket brake pads.
