Do I dare comptech?

Hey guys,

As you know I've been stacking parts for the season. I have the CT ice box and XLR8 V2 j pipe waiting to be installed because I'm trying to get my exhaust. Placed my order Monday for the ATLP Resonated exhaust for my 14' AWD. Unfortunately they are out for 4-8 weeks. I am not interested in XLR8 because it is a little too much growl for me (no offence to XLR8 or anyone that has that exhaust). My question is... Do I dare try the CT Engineering Mufflers with custom piping? I can get the mufflers any day and probably for a good price. I know one member on here had them installed on the factory exhaust and didn't like it. Has anyone ran the CT mufflers with custom piping in here?

I have my mind set on the ATLP still but just curious on everyone's thoughts? If I did get the mufflers what size piping would you guys recommend?

Thanks!

Can't comment on the CT axle back exhaust but I think you should wait and get what you really want. You don't want to have any regrets later. Also, the ATLP is loud too but it makes a different type of sound compared to the XLR8. People will still know it's an aftermarket exhaust. Regardless, both will be loud but with different tones. Just comes down to which sound you like more.

dude.. just sayin.. those 3.5 inch tips are small on the ct exhaust.. i wouldnt do it.. its just way too small and sounds too stockish.. you dont pay that much to have it sound stock..

get the atlp, if you get the resonated one, its not that loud after break in.. cruising on the freeway, you can barely hear it.. its only during take off at a stop that it will be loud.. other than that its all goood

Thanks for the info. Yeah I am going to wait. Just curious on others thoughts. Surprised CT didn't make a full exhaust.

Potmilkz, it's not as loud because the tips are resonated. Also, it retains the stock mid pipes hence why it's called an axle back system. He could fabricate a straight pipe which would drastically change the note of the exhaust. And 3.5 tips is plenty big, had it on my 09 before the 13. Besides, its only .5 inch larger than the atlp tips. Hardly a noticable difference. Carbon, good move on waiting. Well worth the wait, everyone that has them loves them.

well if you put it like that...

its up to you.. atlp's look damn good..

These are ct axlebacks on a 12+

these are atlp's on my 09-11

you can clearly tell the difference between the 3.5 and the 4 inch..
also while my exhaust are true quads the ct engineering are not..

Yeah you can tell the difference. The ATLP look more fitting. I would only run the CT's with aftermarket piping. Not stock.

The 4" tips are just huge, but fit the car sooo well.

I had the CT Engineering exhaust and so did KarKraze. The only reason why I sold them was because I couldn't get use to the smaller tipped exhaust however I absolutely loved the sound of them. If i kept them, I would have matched it with an aftermarket J-Pipe to make it sound a bit deeper but it was perfect. Now I'm back to stock exhaust and I don't even like the 4" exhaust tips compared to the stock SH-AWD exhaust tips.

Our exhaust does have an awesome exotic tone to it. It is resonated so it won't produce excessive drone. It may not be for everyone, but I love the growl our exhaust makes. It's also made from full T304 stainless and manufactured here in the U.S.

I do come down to Portland every once in awhile. Marcus I spoke with you early this month on the phone. I'm Rodney AKA RT. Just waiting for you to get the next batch. I need it in my life asap before HONDAFEST.

I had magna flows on my TSX. It was coo but I am looking for a complete exhaust this time instead of having one pieced together. I am just going to wait until the ATLP is back in stock most likely.

That was our supercharged TL 6-speed. Also CT-E did not make a full exhaust due to it not making any additional power and it would drive up the costs. That is what we were told.

How many TL's did you have that kit on? It was on the silver one too. It's RT.
