Brakes

Anybody upgrade rotor+pads? or have experience with the list below?

I need new brakes soon. I'm deciding between a combo of these:

Rotors:
EBC 3GD
Stoptech Slotted

Pads:
Hawk Ceramic
Hawk HPS
EBC Red
EBC Yellow
Stoptech Ceramic

If i go stoptechs i'll likely go with XLR8's brake pkg.

I want something that's better than OEM. I'm not a fan of the OEM pads on the TL. I've had ceramics on my previous car, and they're ok. I have EBC Greenstuff and 3DG rotors on my Ody, good brakes, but the heavy van ate thru the greenstuff in no time.

Just got the 500 buck XLR8 package. They're amazing so far. Made sure to break them in, and everything seems great.

remember, with pads and rotors, you will always have to compromise something.
For example:
Great life, poor initial bite.
great initial bite, poor life.
great initial life, but heavy dusting.

It's all about what you need in a pad.
Most rotors do the same shit, and i wouldnt spend an arm and a leg on a fancy one.

I'm running the stoptech slotted rotors from the XLR8 kit
Josh, swapped out the pads for a ceramic set, and I couldnt be happier!

Josh swapped it out for me at no cost.
I couldnt tell you the brand, other than it provides good bite and no dust.
he sells them as a package deal, just ask if you could swap out the stoptech pads for a ceramic set.

I originally had the stop tech pads on the rear, but they dusted so much, i bought an additional ceramic pad from josh.

I recently changed my friends rear brakes on his RL.
we used autozone cmax golds!
great pad!!
no dust, good bite!
and it was like $40 bucks. forgot how much the ceramic pads josh sells, but the autozone pads are a great contender !!

xlr8's pkg already comes with Stoptech Ceramic pads. so maybe you have Stoptech ceramics? http://store.excelerateperformance.c...i-1890184.aspx

I know it won't be 100% correct, but i'm just going to assume that the ceramic pads from all 3 manufacturers i mentioned will perform similar to each other. justnspace, How do the ceramics handle on the TL? are they noticeably better than stock?

I prefer a harder initial bite, but it's not a must. From my last car, ceramics didn't bite that hard

Dust... as long as they don't dust like bmw/merc oem's then i'll be ok. So i know Ceramics will do well in this category.

The package comes w/ Stoptech Street Performance pads. the street performance uses something called Para-Aramid composite material, not ceramic apparently. StopTech does have a ceramic pad though, (Under their mother company though, Centric Posiquiet)

The 4G TL XLR8 Brake Package comes with STOPTECH ceramic pads. The other kits typically come with STOPTECH Performance pads.
