Another Supercharged TL?

I came across this video and I haven't seen it before. It was published recently and they don't go into detail, but maybe this is around the corner.

prototype kit.

they are hung up on tuning.

p.s. if they are still using the MP62 as the blower, it was very undersized for the 3.2 TL. MUCH less for a 3.7

Yea, I know it's undersized, but it's on a different car which means they might have made some advancement, I know all about the lack of a tune for the 4G.

^they've been working on this kit since 2010.

if they really did achieve 100 extra hp from the blower, that indicates they used a bigger blower.

we've(3rd gen TL community) retrofitted the MP90 into the MP62 housing and gave greater results.

with the help of hondata, we've seen exceptional numbers from the ct supercharger.
however, it brings heat!

you'll need adequate cooling!
whether it be with Meth or an aftermarket intercooler.

Any time you run a supercharger as an aftermarket set up you need an inter cooler. I know everything that has been tried and what it takes to get this going. I posted the video because it looks like they have gotten it closer. 100 hp should be expected, not much more and not really any less. This is a 300hp+ engine to start with. I assume the kit will be around 5-7 grand, depending what will be included. Most kits only include the supercharger and all the hardware and brackets. You would also need the tune, larger injectors, larger fuel pump and the intercooler. There are a few other minor things that might need changed as well. Justin, when you're talking FI you're way behind in knowledge on this one. I've added supercharges and turbos onto almost everything I have owned since 2002, that includes quite a few different cars and trucks.

to be frank, they've been working on it since 2010.
I think you're a little bit behind on the curve.

they are stuck on tuning.

Read my above posts, I noted that I am aware of the tuning situation. I think you're a little behind on the curve. It's ok though, I know you just started learning about cars and how they work 5 years ago. You have a lot to learn, tell me again how you can degree a cam without actually taking measurements from the engine it's going in.

Kit probably won't be anymore than 5k at the most and it will probably include injectors like every other kit they've ever offered that needed them.

You hope so, but don't count on it. I bet it's an add on package with the fuel pump and fuel rails if needed, and the tuner.

Brock79, the so called "Kit" for the 4G TL, is one with miscellaneous parts thrown together, untuned and untested.

That thread was created way before the date you joined AcuraZine. See below.

" 2009-2012 TL Super Charger Kit " :
https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-295/2009-2012-tl-super-charger-kit-887210/

And many 4G TL owners have been dying waiting forever for a proper supercharging kit to come out into the market.

So if you can make good use of your expertise in turbos and superchargers, and come up with a proper forced induction kit for the 4G TL, then a whole bunch of us will be loving and kissing you.

I'm aware of the other video and silver car from 2010, the video above is a new video with a different TL and was posted only a few weeks ago, so I'm hoping it means there is a breakthrough around the corner. My expertise in FI has nothing to do with writing programs and tunes.

Never said I was a know it all. But I do see you're back with Justin after he was bashing you. I do know about power adders though and this is one subject that I know majority of the members on here have no experience with. If this set up ever works will it need a return rail or no? What size injectors? Add a pump or just a larger fuel pump? Will we need A/F gauge or will the tune be able to adapt the engine to the new A/F. Will smaller pullies be an option? There are a few more things I can go on about. I would be one of the first to add this kit to my TL. Most kits come in 3-4 different level options, being from just the supercharger and brackets all the way up to a full kit ready to go.

You keep links up for a few weeks starting the childish behavior, so I'm suppose to be cool with it once you decide to take them down? How does that work exactly? You attack me and I'm just gonna sit here and wait for you to be done? This is a thread I started and had nothing to do with you, you don't even own a 4G and you have no idea about FI, so how does this thread involve you?

Just for that I gave you a thanks, lol. It really doesn't bother me at all, I actually ran into a member in Westchester, name withheld because I'm not an asshole. Anyways he brought up my screen name and said what a douche I was, I said that's funny, what would you do if he was here right now? The member said I would smack some sense into him. I said smack away when you're ready, he apologized, and said no it's cool I was just joking. When I insisted he slap away, he got real nervous and got in his car for some reason and sped off. Anyways that just proves my point, a lot of people talk shit on here but in real life it's a different story.

I just wanted to post an updated video of a supercharged TL, I guess that's to much for some members to handle though.

everything you just mentioned has been done to the 3G TL.

the CT kit comes with everything you need, as stated in the video that you posted.

the things you mentioned are optional to get more power.
since the blower is already underdriven, it was a bad idea in the past to use the High boost pulley.

we upgrade to the RDX injectors. they are 410cc.
we also upgrade the fuel pump.

while are engines are close to being the same they are not, I have the 3.7, not the 3.5. While they do share a lot in common they are not quite the same. I have never stripped one down of either size, but I suspect the largest difference are the heads and connecting rods. Besides that yes they should share the same block and many other components. The RDX is a 3.7 as well, I'm pretty sure, so that would be the same engine that was in the TL in the video. They did label it as an AWD version and it did seem to have the SH AWD front end as well. So yea those injectors are no good if you're adding 100HP. One thing I'm not sure about is if the 3.7 could handle that much extra boost. Would Honda use forged internals? I doubt it, if they did, then boost away and hope the block is rated for at least 600 HP.

What a load of BS.

You need to just acknowledge that your information and perceptions are a bit incomplete, apologize, thank the member who shared the information and move on.

You just really don’t hear yourself, do you?

If you have to keep saying you’re an expert, you are not an expert. If you spent as much time trying to be helpful as you do insulting people trying to engage you in conversation, your expertise would be self-evident. If you're such and expert, teach instead of criticize.

You could be a world-renown expert in FI, but when you communicate with people like this all they'll hear is a fool.
