2009-2012 TL Super Charger Kit
Ok we have retired our 2012 TL-AWD show car. We just removed the CT-Enginnering supercharger kit and we are not going to put it on the next car. We are going to wait for the future TL/TLX to come out before we put together another show car. This kit is complete with the following items
MP62 Supercharger
AEM FIC with harness
Modified radiator w/ modified fan shroud
1 set RDX injectors
1 set of Modified TL injectors
CT-Engineering Intake kit
High boost pulley 6-7lbs
Low boost pulley 3-4lbs
Battery relocation brackets (smaller 51r battery needed)
Idler pulley kit with belt
Custom made Upper radiator hose adapter with hose
Smaller Coolant overflow bottle.
All bracket and hardware for installation
Ok so this is a custom kit. There is no installation instructions!!! or tuning!!! available from us or CT-Engineering. It was running great when we removed it with the low boost pulley. We left the tune in the AEM unit for that pulley but I would strongly advise you to have it taken to a tuning company before you start driving it. This kit produced 40 hp at the wheels on the low boost pulley. We ran the high boost pulley on it and it was close to 100 hp at the wheels. The kit came off of our TL that has a total of 750 miles.
Priced at $4500.00 shipped in the US

100hp at the wheels??!? How much for proper install and tune?
Did you dyno the supercharger? With low and high boost pulleys, did you test 0-60mph and 0-100mph?

im sure he is just selling it as he as it in hand.. and is returning the car stock..
most likely no one will buy it.. we rather wait for the real thing for another 2+ years then to spend 4.5k on one that is only a beta.

Guise, it can be done.
But it needs a proper tuning solution.
HEAT IS THE KILLER OF ALL THINGS.
it needs supporting mods such as a meth kit or an intercooler.
also, the mp62 is very small for the 3.2 much less for the 3.7.
the mp90 blower is something to consider.
for some one that likes a challenge and has some funds to throw at it; this kit would be awesome.
but as it sits now..........

$4500 for something put together piecemeal is pretty hard to swallow.
But if it comes with installation/tuning assistance and limited warranty from Lynnwood Acura and/or CT-E, then it would be a different story.

Especially since they're claiming a CTE icebox and J pipe with HPFC will get you over 30 without any tuning issues. That's about a 1/4 of the price if you catch a good sale. Less headaches too

The age old thought process is that realistically you must spend $100 for ever 1WHP, so this is actually pretty spot on. Just the fact that there isn't any other turbocharged or supercharged 4G's out there makes the uniqueness of this kit a very attractive offer.
I'd love to buy it, but the wife controls the funds... dammit.

Uniqueness in this case may not be a good thing.
It means all the crooks and kinks may still lurking inside the piecemeal kit, which may become a major headache in the future, unless the buyer has serious mechanical skills.
What most want is a production version of the fully-tested-out kit with manufacturer backing. So in the case if any remaining installation or operation problem arises, all the individual buyers can work together to pressure the manufacturer to find a speedy solution.
A classic example is the 1st few batches of production XLR8 J-pipe which was touching the transfer case in 2012+ TL's, back in Sept 2012.

hey justin, but when you say tune are you referring to a ECU?

The 40hp was on the low boost pulley. We are also including the high boost pulley as well for the same price. This is a bolt on kit. It is very similer to all the kits for the V6 honda and Acura's. It is a simple install for most techs. I can include thoes instructions if you want. Tuning is a issue but not a hard one. The AEM FIC is already tuned for the low boost pulley it should be checked but you could run off of it. Any AEM dealer could tune this car. I hope this answers some of the questions.

Seems more like intercooler which mounts in the intake directly under roots / twin screw blowers and has a heat exchanger mounted in the front of the car with a system to circulate coolant through the system. Don't know about knock but controlling the AFR making sure its not running lean will be your biggest concern.
Once that is taken care of you have to tune for drivability and make sure that the cats will live under boost. Most factory FI cars are a little more complex in their PCM than non FI cars. Sense a lean condition or extreme exhaust temps the fuel system is manipulated to use fuel to cool gas temps and save cats. Majority of new FI cars are using wideband sensors in front instead of O2 sensors for safely monitoring engines unlike NA with the dual O2 sensors.
Definitely a lot of work is already done and a unit is built but there appears to be a lot left to make it reliable for everyday driving. No disrespect intended but someone not well versed in FI engines might need to do research and know what your getting into.
Using a piggy back system in this application circumvents a lot of the cars fail safe protection. Not like your putting on an MSD for more fire. Your actually trying to change a fuel map and MAF curve by adding a tune over top of the factory tune. Either create a stand alone system for the car or have major problems running boost

We ran the high boost pulley most of the time. We had a customer that was looking at purchasing the car with the kit installed and requested the smaller pulley put back on because they thought there was "too much power". I understand about the intake temps but we never ran into a problem. But here in Washington state we never really see that hot of days like other parts of the country. CT-E was the first one's to tune this car with the higher boost pulley installed and they were fine with the way the car was running and felt is was as reliable as any other of there kits. So really you could run the high boost pulley as we did with no other parts as long as your tuner says everything is within safe levels.
