V1 Install Location?
V1 Install Location?
I'm going to hardwire my V1 soon but I'm not sure where the best spot is. I'm leaning towards up high, just to the left of my rear view mirror, for ease of use and best coverage. Second option is down low, just above the nav screen. Any opinions are appreciated!
For better laser detection mount low, better radar: mount high.
But here is the thing: if your V1 detects a Laser it's too late
That's why I mounted my 9500IX high.
And here is what Valentine states on their own website:

Yeah, that's my plan.
Wife uses mirror so that's not gonna work. I was going to use the suction cup mount left of the mirror but thanks for posting the pic.

It only works on cars with auto dim mirrors. If you feel around the back there's a little jack there (I think it's on the left side). You can buy adaptors that plug right into that.
I built my own cable ( google it
),
but here is how it works:

I have mine mounted high, to the left the rear view, powered by the rear view, using the included suction cup mount. Very clean, out of the way, and effective.
Laser detection isn't a problem when mounted high (at least it wasn't for me). I was pulled over recently by an officer using a laser gun. The detector went off, but obviously, it was already too late. Laser detection is only good when it's bounced off another car being detected. I was the only car on the road.

This V1 mount looks pretty nice. Anyone using it?

I hate to bring up a really old thread, but I figure its better to do it then create a new one, but I'm wanting to mount my V1 to my mirror and make my own stealthcord, but I'm afraid of it possibly shorting... there are some cords pre-made that have a fuse in them for a shortage, but was wondering if I really need to pay like $20 for that cord of just make it myself for $5
Have any of you guys that made your own stealthcord had a problem with shorting or anything?
thanks!

Plain and simple - Mount it near the rear view mirror and either connect to rear view mirror and run cord along headliner, down the A pillar and to the fuse box.
Even in the garage is no good, because V1 and some other detectors will be set off by the own car in which the V1 is mounted, such as the BSI system on the 2012+ Advance TL.
