Nope. Not as far as I can tell. The HDD on works off of CDs. Someone correct me if I am wrong...but I think I even read that in the manual. I am pretty sure transfering from ipod to HDD would be a violation of copyrights if any of the songs were purchased on itunes.

You're correct. The only way to get songs to the HDD, at this time, is via commercial CD's, or homemade "redbook" (audio CD standard format). Burning CD's from iTunes does work, and if you enable the "include text", it will come up in the TL Nav screen. See other posts for more details on this stuff.

Yeah the problem is they see the hard drive as being a replacement for the CD changer, it's acting as a "CD jukebox", while most of us want it to behave like a typical mp3 player. You put files on it, it plays them back.

note thatif your HD fails for any reason, they specifically state that they will not replace the music that was on it.

How is that a problem Eli? If you embrace it, the HDD is a move to the future where media elements will start to fade out like the floppy disk did on computers.

My only complaint with the hdd is that if you want to rip manually it takes forever and is not very convenient. If you rip auto (all songs ripped) then by the time you are less than half way through listening to the cd all the songs are ripped to the hdd. It seems that an average 3-4 minute song take about 1 minute to get copied to the drive.

That's not what I said. I said we all want the hard drive feature to behave like an mp3 player playing arbitrary audio files while its designed for a much more limited scenario, a strict CD changer replacement. I haven't bought an album in ages, I just buy individual songs like most everyone else in this generation.
