I am new to the group and did a search but did not find anything on this. I have a 2012 TL AWD that has the reverse beeper as you get close(r) to an object behind/beside the car. Recently it beeps twice then pause, then beep twice over and over even if i am not approaching anything near the car. I have cleaned the sensors thinking maybe they are dirty but that did not eliminate the beeping. It does NOT do this every time i put it in reverse but probably 90% of the time. Anyone else have this occur and advice on the issue and how to fix it? thanks

 

Per the parking sensor manual, a series of two intermittent beeps indicates that the right sensor is faulty or disconnected. Have you looked behind the bumper and confirmed that the sensor is plugged in securely?

Corner Sensors

Series of two intermittent beeps: right sensor is faulty.

Series of three intermittent beeps: left sensor is faulty.

Series of four intermittent beeps: right and left sensors are faulty.



Center Sensors

Series of three beeps: either or both sensors are faulty.

 

I have a 2012 and it does not beep when backing up near objects, is there a way to toggle this feature on?

 

Not all TLs have the parking sensors. Does your car have the sensors on the rear bumper?

 

Has the back up camera with lines but now that i look at pictures of the booty it does not have the circles i am used to seeing on cars with parking sensors. Odd, would have thought the SH-AWD with Tech would have had them. oh well

 

They were optional. Most TLs don’t have then.
