Remote Starter

Hey everyone,

I recently installed a Compustar T9 in my 2013 TL and I noticed that the car starts fine, but when I open the door the ignition turns off. So I was wondering if there is some sort of bypass I could install to avoid this?

I would contact their support to confirm if "Secure Takeover" is available for 2009-2012 Acura TL.

Just an FYI, the Acura Remote Started also turns off the car when any door (including truck) is opened.

Apparently they don't offer it. I wonder if any other remote starter does. They keep telling me that Acura doesn't offer it, but I have friends with TLX's that don't turn off when a door is opened.

The car will turn off in any case, this is done so that someone's children do not go and die in an accident, it's just that in Viper it turns off when the brake is pressed, and in Compustar when the door is opened. I think it's not a problem to start the engine again.

No, there are vehicles that stay on once the remote starter is used. The car will not get far without the remote present. I have a friend with a TLX that keeps running when the door is opened as well as when the break is pressed. That is ideal.

Unfortunately, 4G TL without a remote, the car can drive until you turn it off. That is, without a remote, you can easily go to another continent. If you really need this feature, you can purchase TLX.

Again, no. My TL turns off if you don't have the remote within a certain range. And nobody is buying a TLX for one feature. Maybe you ..

Did you make it up yourself and did you dream it? The car cannot turn itself off if the key is far away, it does not have such a function. Read the user manual carefully 185 page. Imagine that you are driving in the desert and your remote battery runs out, the car shuts down and your life is in danger, so Honda does not want you to sue her. If the car itself could turn off when driving, it would be very stupid and not safe.

If you want to take your TL to the desert to drive around I think you have deeper issues than your remote turning on or off.

There are thousands of roads in the USA that run through the desert, are you saying that all the people who use these roads have deeper issues?

LOL you're beyond sensitive. Maybe you should consider taking your issues elsewhere. I'm looking for a bypass for my TL so that it doesn't turn off when the door is opened or the breaks are pressed. You're not in a position to provide anything insightful enough to answer the question besides a sly comment about buying a TLX, so kindly see yourself out unless you're going to miraculously provide something of substance.

I was just joking about TLX and you started crying like a little boy. Do not fool people on the forum, but try to use your brain and read the T9 user manual. LOL

LMAO I'm the one crying when you're the one hurling insults like a "little boy". Just because you're insecure doesn't mean you have to be an anonymous keyboard warrior on an internet forum. Nobody here thinks you're tough, and nobody in real life will ever take a second look at you. Take your negative energy somewhere else and let the men talk in here. Bye bye now 👋🏼😗

Next time is a week ban.

Now onto your question

The 4G TL will not shut off if the remote is not present. Get your facts right. TLX has updated system which leaves car in "accessory mode" with the engine on so lights are not illuminated. With the key present the car will then go into the "ON" mode once you press the brake and stop/start button. NO such feature exists on factory 4G TL, it does exist on the accessory remote start on TLX.

Remote start is designed this way so your car will not be stolen. You can play with wiring or leave a remote in the car so you can have that functionality if you desire, but if the car gets stolen insurance may not cover your claim.
