It is annoying but is this because of US regulations to place the disclaimer screen on navis?

Check the 3G forum. There is a work-around. Not sure how that crosses over to 4G though.

OK, finally I have a gripe with the 4G. I hate this OK button at start-up. Yes, I have also had this on former cars but it is moreso on the 4G, at least mine, becaue the screen comes up to say hit the OK button but the system lags behind about 10 seconds before it acknowledges I've hit the button. Minor, yes, but none the less a pita.

After I press Ok - my screen reacts almost INSTANTLY. now my old 3G - that had the long system lag. I figured the Okay button response and time to figure routes improvements were due to the new hard drive based system instead of the old dvd system.

What is more annoying in the 4G is having to hit OK just to use the HFL, in the 3G you could ignore the OK the screen will time out to black and you can still use the HFL. The 4G if you don't hit OK you can only answer HFL not place HFL calls.

Funny Acura called me yesterday to ask how I liked my new car and while the conversation was very positive I did stress how much I hate the new HFL and the person was not surprised, even laughed as I was not alone in that complaint!

Great Keith, I'm glad you finally spoke to someone. Was it a cust. serv. rep from Acura HQ in Torrance? I got a very nice lady and she laughed with me as well about entering a phone number on a screen when we have HFL? For me that's job one fixing this issue. Wether it's Alpine or Pioneer, who cares, because if it doesn't boost confidence in the sales of your 4th generation TL then why bother? Pioneer must of one the biding war with Alpine. They obviously messed up on this one, and I hope the culprit stands up and takes responsibility for our discontent.

Doesn't bother me (in the 3G). I just ignore it until it goes dark. I ride with the screen dark 80% of the time. Most of the time the screen is on, it's on the Audio controls.

Not sure, they called and caller ID said Honda. I plan on following up with a letter soon, wanted to make sure I had time to really get to know the car. They asked how many miles I had, so clearly they want to make sure people are using the car a little while and not just knee jerk reactions. I had the car 6 weeks when they made the first attempt to call. Funny as he was tlaking to me he pulled up my history and went "oh wow I see you have been a good Acura customer.." referring to this being TL #6 for me. And it seems they had all my correspondence still from my 04 TL that I had written them when I had all the squeaks and rattles. I spoke to this guy for like 30+ minutes, he was fairly knowledgable about the Acura lineup, including the up coming V6 TSX as we both speculated about what that woudl do to TL sales....
