No Pause/Resume?

I'm wondering why there is no Pause/Resume on the HDD, CD, or iPod interface? Interestingly, there is one for Bluetooth audio. I've searched the forum and the owners manual but can't find a reference - nor are the little universal pause/play marks on any of the controls on the dash?
I often listen to podcasts through the iPod interface. Sometimes I get tired of listening and would like to switch to music on my iPod. It is frustrating to not be able to pause the podcast while I search through music playlists. At that point I'm paying attention to what I'm looking for, not the podcast and I lose track of where I was in the podcast.
Am I missing something? iPods and any other type of music player I can think of (tape, CD, etc.) all have pause and resume buttons - but not our car audio system?

Yeah that's an odd one but I haven't really given it much thought as I noticed that my iPhone pauses when a call comes in or when I take it out of the car, when I hang up or come back in it resumes right where it left off. I always thought it would be cool to pause live XM or radio like I do on the computer, kind of like a car tivo if you will. Shoot, we got the HD now, and already taking XM :10 second notes of songs, why not extend it to 30 minutes or so? The XM quality is crap so it can't be much on the storage?

I find this a little annoying too. I want to be able to pause and resume. Or if the radio is on, it would be nice to be able to mute it, say while entering a tool booth, or if a passenger is making a call.

For some reason, every time I turn it off and back on while my iPhone is connected, it will resume playing, but with no sound. I have to un-plug my iPhone, plug it back in, agree to the message on the iPhone, and then I get sound again. Very annoying, and unsafe while driving.

I guess no "1" works for the Non-tech one as they can have 6 cds inside. For Tech, nothing happens

In my Nissan Altima that I had, I installed a Pioneer Inno as it didn't come with satellite radio. I had it uninstalled when I traded in the car for an Acura. I love my Inno because it allows you to pause the live XM Radio and record songs into its memory. My Inno has about 200 songs on it that I have recorded off XM Radio. I think I am going to take it up to CarToys and see if they integrate it in the TL. They wouldn't have to install the antenna, just the radio. It sure would be nice to record again and play my recorded songs in the car again.
