Making your own DVD-A discs

Almost forgot about this software that I used when I had my 3rd Gen TL. -- DVD Audio Solo. It makes perfect DVD-A discs from my FLAC collection and they sound supurb! A must have if you really enjoy the sound.

While yes, you input files are limited to 16bit files (FLAC or WAV based) you upsample them. I just burnt my first disc in a couple of years tonight and it sounds amazing.

I use DBPoweramp to do all my conversions. The best part is both software is free on trial license - so give it a try!

Just wanted to clarify what you are doing ... are you using dBpoweramp to rip your CDs to FLAC, and then using Solo DVD to read the FLACs, upsample to 24bit/192kHz, then burn to DVD using DVD-A authoring?

I use HD Audio Ultra to both rip to FLAC and then to create DVD-A. You can adjust center, rear, width, etc.

Yes -- dBPoweramp to rip to FLAC then Solo DVD to upsample...

I'll have to give HD Ultra a try

It sounds like HD Ultra might do it all - but I had both versions of the software on the PC from when I made disks for my 3rd Gen TL... I'll be sure to give HD Ultra a try.

Thanks for the reply Ken. I know this thread is old but I just stumbled upon it. Are you converting regular music to DVD-A using these tools as well?

Correct - if using the software above. I have ripped many Dream Theater mixes and they all sound amazing.
