JL Audio Installed with PICTURES

Okay Guys....

Got it all installed over the weekend! My friend does custom work and when I went to pick it up, All I could say was WOW! As far as the sound, It is CLEAN and CRISP. Drops nice but not too much ( Sealed Enclosure ) The C5's are LOUD!!! The Clean Sweep did it's job and I am a happy camper!

• 12W7-3
• Component C5's ( Front )
• HD750/1
• HD600/4
• JL Clean Sweep
• Stinger 0 Guage Kit
• Stinger HPM3 Rca's

Here are some pics

This is a LED in the vent to let me know if the Clean Sweep is on or off. Green on/Red Off.

This is the setup during the day!

And this is what Is aw last night when I picked up my car... I was Amazed!

which was a surprise to see when he popped the trunk

Thank you guys for the advice and direction getting this done.

The W7 should go as low as you want. I'll get pics up when its done, but im slowly putting my setup together. I dont have all the cash to buy it all at the moment.

BTW, how is the alternator with those two amps? Those are the same two i have and am curious to know how they will be or if i will need a cap or a different battery.

Well Im sure it will hit lower if I did a ported box, right? I went sealed since I listen to alot of everything but just does not have the head rattle like you may like every now and then! lol

So far the stock bettery and alternator are fine, Going to see over two weeks and play by ear. Cap would be a waste of $, A yellow top Stinger or Optima would do justice!

Ported would be lower, but i dont like the sound of them near as much. I also listen to alot of everything and when i had my 10W7 i was happy with it in the sealed box it came in.

Thats good to hear on the battery and alternator. I might do a Stinger down the road since my friend carries them.

Holly Shit, nice job. Is there a port to the cabin or are you using A-spec for travel. It would seem that you could run through the SKI pass with 1.5" or less clearance or less and get close to right low pass distance for proper response. Otherwise I commend you on a fine job and plead ignorance on the LED.

Well it is a sealed box, Really not sure! LOL I thought about a port facing the SKI opening might be the way to go but right now I think it's good. Could use a little more thump I think though

Thank you though !

So basically you've gone with a straight 4 channel + sub and are doing without the rear doors and the center channel?

It's a nice little box which takes the input from your factory HU and 'cleans' the signal prior to feeding it to external amps. Replaced the Soundgate LOC I had in my CL with one and absolutely loved it. Works especially well when wanting to use a factory HU with an otherwise 'Bose' factory system to let it sound like it was intended to.

I have the base model. No rear doors and left the Center alone. Plus made it so when I hit the clean sweep it shuts the whole system off except the center... Popo Button

Now I am wondering instead of jumping from the 600/4 to the 750/1 and just went with a LOC from the stock Sub, Would the 750/1 have more voltage. I think I might not be getting all the power from jumping.

That's hot. Take a picture from further back to see how much of the trunk is left.

Bumping my old thread... So I decided a Sealed enclosure was not giving me the deep tone I was looking for or atleast using what the Sub was meant to do. I went with a Ported enclosure now and will post pics tomorrow after I get the car tonight.

so, did you lose any speakers in the process? does that mean the 4 channels went to the fronts and rears and now you no longer have center speakers?

Updated Pics PORTED! So after Learning and trial and error, Making a Sealed enclosure for a 12W7 is not Ideal and Ported is the way to go. What a difference!

I spoke to a tech at Freeman car stereo in charlotte today. He advised me that the best route to boost sound was to start over...ie, replace all speakers, new sub and new amp. He stated that the acura vehicles and other high tech vehicles have closely integrated electronics that if they tried to add an amp to boost factory speakers, it may not work out so well. he also said , for example, a new amp with factory speakers could possibly cause disruption or feedback from things like use of blue tooth handsfree link.

....man that sucks! these cars are getting to be such that adding an amp will screw up some of the electronic features! sigh!

yes, but if you don't have an extensive collection of DVD-A's, or otherwise want to have a better sounding system overall, going aftermarket is the only way!
