iPod Nano in 2012 TL

Can you use the 7th generation ipod in the 2012 TL? The drivers' manual says that you can use 1st thru 5th generation but the guide was published before the seventh was marketed. I would like to get a 7th generation but not if I can't use it in the car. Service department at my dealer doesn't seem to know.

So I assume that Ipod Classic can be used as well? I want an ipod large enough to hold all my music and my ipod touch isnt cutting it and im not looking to spend 350 bucks on a new ipod touch just for car purposes..

Most cost effective way to play music in the car - buy a USB stick (16 GB, 32 GB - whatever suits your fancy), fill it up with all your songs, plug it in, and DONE!
Just remember to put it into folders.

Sure beats buying an IPod just for car purposes. Cheap, easy, and convenient.

You can use any ipod in the car....we've got everything from ancient first generation ipods to iphone 5's and they all work fine. I prefer the ipod to the usb memory stick because you can control the music from either the car or the ipod...usb is just.......there

Ditto! I just got Sandisk Cruz 32GB for $22 double an iPod storage and 25% the price.

Depends on how you listen to music. If you go purely by artist and albums that can be arranged in folders, USB stick is just fine. If you prefer playlists though, iPod is required for that. I use an iPod Classic (160 gb) for the purpose, and it works great.

I have an ipod touch with playlist and a 14 TL base.

There is the USB plug and the Aux 3.5mm plug in the center console. I get audio from the speakers with the 3.5mm aux plugged in (ipod to aux) but obviously nothing displays on the radio screen. With the USB, no sound transfers to the car speakers and no track info either.

Is there anything I can do to get better than audio-only (i.e. track info, etc) with the base TL?
