Question iPod Frustration/Question

I'm one of those music geeks with a pristine 80gb iPod meticulously maintained by Genre-->Artist-->Album-->Track. These folders and sub folders are amazing to quickly find songs on my iPod... however, I'm not liking the "integration" with the TL.

1. Because I have so many songs, the interface is pretty slow, but I somewhat expected that.

2. If I am listening to Radiohead's Hello Computer album and want to go back a step to the Radiohead subfolder to choose a new album, I have to start from scratch and choose either Album or Artist. This totally sucks because I spin that dial forever due to the number of songs on the iPod.

I know that I can set up playlists, which I have but my library is so diverse that playlists only take you so far.

Do you guys have any thoughts OR is there an easy solution to my problem that I am ignorant to?

Thanks...

I feel ya on #2 - I would like for it to keep the trail you used to get where you are instead of always starting over.

The best workaround seems to be to use the voice command thing, it's at least faster & safer than spinning the wheel through 4000 artists.
