Increasing Fuse amperage from 7.5A to 15A. Any major issues?

Increasing Fuse amperage from 7.5A to 15A. Any major issues?

I just finished wiring my 9500ix (http://imgur.com/a/26PlL/). I used an add-a-circut (I don't feel comfortable tapping into a wire) to add a circuit to the driver side fusebox. I replaced fuse 18 (description says "Acc" in the handbook). It was originally a 7.5A fuse. I didn't have on hand any 7.5A fuses which fit into the new circuit, so I replaced it with a 15A fuse. I'm not sure if this will cause any issue in the future though. Will it?

why risk to see what could happen? keep it stock amperage..

go buy a 7.5 fuse.

If the fuse slot is using a 7.5A fuse, it is likely that the corresponding wiring is of a gauge heavy enough to support a current of 7.5A plus maybe a few more for safety margins.

15A is like doubling the current going through the ~7.5A wiring. Don't do it for safety reasons. The last thing you want is to start a nasty fire inside your car.

You could use a fuse rated less than 7.5A ... If you've got a 5A fuse, that should suffice, if you have one of those lying around...

Haha, alright! Thanks guys. Just decreased it back to 7.5A

Glad to relay that my car is still in one piece, and there's no fire damage! (hah)
