Hi All,

I got my 2009 TL a few months ago and noticed that the HVAC and Audio buttons are not backlit. As I'm still learning where everything is I have to use the reading light to see the buttons at night. Is there a backlight that's out in my car or was this an oversight by Acura designers?

Just for shits and giggles. Did you try turning the display lights up using that buttons on the dash to the left of the headlight switch?

 

I did try and adjust the brightness but still got nothing. The markings on the buttons don't seem transparent so I figured that there was no backlighting for the HVAC and Audio controls. I was looking for confirmation of this. If there should be backlighting, I'll dig around to find out where the bulb is.

FYI - There are no serviceable bulbs for the Navigation/Audio controls on the 4th gen...the entire unit is backlit via a printed circuit board on the unit itself. See the following pic...

Are you lights on AUTO? I had mine on OFF and it took me few days to figure out why I don't ahve lights on my HVAC and audio.
