Hands free calling using voice tag
Hi there, sorry if this has been asked in the past. Last weekend we bought a new TL 2012 with tech and I still can't figure out how to make a call using HFL and voice tags. I added my office phone number and added a voice tag "Office" to that speed dial. But I I can't figure out how to make call. I can hit the phone button and select office using knob or say 1 using talk button to make call but however I saw threads that says people are using commands like "Call home", "Call Mom " etc . How do you do that ? Everything I have read so far says it is a multiple step process like you have to hit the talk button or phone pick up button and say "Call By voice Tag " and then "Voice Tag " and then "Dial"
Is this the only way you can call using voice tags? Your input will be appreciated .

I struggled with this too until I found a youtube video showing me how to do it. I still dont use the voice tag often except when I access it via the interface and not voice commands.
try using the youtube video below

VGAN, if the 4G TL is like the 3G TL, it's very easy.
Think of your TL as having 2 phonebooks. There's the one you load into the Nav from your phone and the "Personal Phonebook" is the one you enter yourself into the system.
First, press the HFL button and say "Phonebook Options". The system will respond by saying, "Phonebook options are add, delete.....etc."
Press the HFL button and say, "Add". The system will say, "what is the phone number you would like to add?" Press the HFL button again and say the phone number (with area code). Then, the system will say, "what name would you like to associate with this number?" Press the HFL button and say, "Office".
And that should take care of it. That's how you add phone numbers to your "Personal" phone book on your TL.

I believe the multi step approach is the only way to do what you are asking. First give the command to "Dial by Voice Tag" and then give the command "Call _____" whatever tag you gave to the number. My 2006 RL was a one step affair, push the phone button and a sand "Call Home". Not sure why Acura complicated the process!

You have to pick up the bluetooth hands free link button on the steering wheel first, then when the phone menu appears, you can then call after clicking the voice recognition button by saying "call home, or whatever is on the voice tags.
