Free XM traffic and weather?

I recently renewed my XM (following the directions on this board - Thanks!) but did not sign up for traffic or weather. I was not getting either service; however, today I noticed I was getting traffic. I then checked for weather and I am getting that as well.

Anyone else getting "free" traffic and weather? Maybe XM changed and started offering it with the normal package.

Free trial is from 5/25 to 6/7
Check your Acuralink messages for details.

OK - found the message.

I did not renew it because I do not think it is very helpful. If you set a destination, the blue line covers up the traffic color. Furthermore, I do not think the navigation system considers congestion (or a crash) in its route. My previous car would tell me if an incident was on my route and it would recommend alternative routes.

As far as the weather goes, you cannot zoom in enough to see what is going on. I just use my phone if I want to check out the weather radar.

The nav system will take into account congestion, accidents, road closures and the like if you have XM traffic activated.

You have to set up the navigation to do auto re-routing if you want this feature to operate.

Honda/Acura Canada in its vast wisdom did not include these features in the Canadian car.

I also recieved a message about the promotion for free XM traffic and weather. I call XM and they gave me a free 3 month trial of both. I like the traffic...not impressed with the weather (but then again I live in Las Vegas...its sunny everyday, no real weather changes)....
