ELS sub in TL vs TSX.

Recently I just upgraded from a 2010 TSX to 2013 TL. Both cars have tech pack with ELS audio.

Overall sound of the TL is great but lacks low end, I was content with the sub in the TSX provided enough bass for me. But the TL sub just sucks....

I played with the setting tried multiple levels and still nothing, and like other members have noted the subwoofer level does almost nothing to change the bass.

Now I am thinking of adding a sub, nothing to big but just enough to provide some good low end.

And since the TL AWD trunk is small to start with I am thinking of going with this http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SBRS...-4.html?tp=112

Any tips, or tips on improving the sound of the stock sub?

When I got my new TL with ELS about 3 weeks ago I thought the sub was broken because it didn't seem to be doing anything. I tested it with the Acura demo disc and I swear there was no sound or vibration on track 22 when it isolates the sub channel, no matter where I set the sub level.
Now I can actually hear and feel the sub when I test it with the same disc track and I can tell the difference when I move the sub level. I remember people saying that the speakers needed time to break in so I figured I'd give it some time before I took it back to Acura.
It's still not like a used 2012 TL I tested where it felt like the sub was kicking me in the back. For now I'm going to give it more time but I think maybe my ears don't really need the extra pressure anyways lol. It sounds good enough for me at the moment.
Just my 2 cents.

I added a 400 watt amp and two 10" subs. Sounds great!

Will the OEM amp drive it OK?

You added that to the factory stereo or did you change out the interior speakers too?

If you didnt change out the interior does the bass drown out the mids and highs.

I have a custom ported box with a 12w7 sitting in my room, but that would just kill my trunk space.

Added to the factory stereo and it was patched into the sub signal line coming from the factory radio.

I have a remote gain for the amp so I can control how much of the subs I want. I had the install shop fab me in a box for the sub control and put it in the blank spot where the canadian models have the headlight wipers.

I get compliments all the time on how great the audio system in my car sounds. But I don't have a lot of trunk space. That's what the wife's CR-V is for! LOL!

Here are some pics.

Do this and let me know If you know a positive difference. When the ELS system EQ "Dolby II", the sub and vol of the speakers are reduced greatly. I only use Dolby II when the windows are up and listening to music with good vocals. When the windows are down, turn the D-II OFF. Try that out. My 08 TL tech the power is so different between the 2 settings. I also leave bass-0 but sub-w level max. It's less "boomy".

I noticed this too when i turned on the pro logic on the ilx loaner. However with my zdx, the sub is louder when prologic is on. Weird... I guess each model is configured differently
