I'm looking at the "Eagles - Hell Freezes Over" disc on Amazon. It has it as a DTS surround sound disc. This isn't the same as DVD-A is it? Would it be worth the money?

^^ Yes, it's a fantastic disc. Listen to Seven Bridges Road very carefully. You'll hear one member of the Eagles out of all 5 different speakers!!!

Thanks for the feedback Steve! I just placed the order for this disc so hopefully it works! I ordered a total of 8 DVD-A discs in the past 48 hours haha.
I ordered, The Blue Man Group (Audio), The Eagles (Hell Freezes Over), Bon Jovi (Slippery When Wet), AC/DC (Back in Black), The Beatles (Love), Disturbed (Believe),Nightwish (can't think of the album), and Metallica (Black Album) It's like a disease, once I started I couldn't stop haha. How does Hotel Callifornia sound on the DTS disc?

It's a live version, & reference quality, IMO

Is the entire disc live tracks or just Hotel California? I only noticed one track that was actually labelled as live. I'm not a huge fan of live music on discs......hmmmm. What is reference quality...I've not heard that term before

The WHOLE disc is LIVE. reference quality refers to music, that is sonically superior, in tonal quality, & dynamic range. I strongly agree with Steven Bell, about "Seven Bridges Road". Incredible clarity, & range. I have 30-40 DVD/Audio, & DTS discs. For the most part, DVD/A, is richer, & not as "metallic". Either way, in the TL/ELS, you can't go wrong.

Livestrong, I might be wrong, but I don't think the Bon Jovi disc will play in the car. I have it-it's a DualDisc. That means it's a regular CD on one side and the other side is 5.1 mix.

That being said, it still will not play in the TL. Double check to see if it's a DualDisc. If it's NOT and it is a DVD Audio disc, post the link-I'd like to get one!

And, if you have a 5.1 system at home, play the Hell Freezes Over disc. It's fantastic. As a matter of fact, just get the DVD Video disc-it's recored in HD and the audio is all DTS!
