Dashcam wiring

All,

I'm looking to purchase a front and rear dashcam for my 2012 TL w/o Tech Package and have some questions around the wiring. Has anybody ran the wiring behind the interior molding to conceal the wires? Is it difficult in our model TL or not recommended to undo the molding? I can hide it, for the most part, using brackets and mounting hooks, but would prefer to hide them.

I have the AUKEY DR02D front/rear dashcam, and hid all of the wires under the molding and headliner without even pulling anything apart.

If you have a set of plastic trim prying tools like these, it makes life a lot easier. I had a slow day at work and wired everything in like 45 mins in the parking lot. If you don't have/want these, find some other hard plastic tool because using your fingers will get really old really quick... ()

I wired everything together first, then used these tools to push the wires into the creases between the interior molding rather than pulling the entire pillars off. Whatever wiring was left for the rear camera, I stuffed into the headliner above the rear seats.

The only bit of laziness I displayed was to use the included 12V power adapter which I also ran around the top of the A pillar and down the B pillar, tucked a bunch of excess wire in the passenger seat rear pocket, and plugged it into the socket inside the center console which I never used anyway. Hard wiring to a fuse box would be a cleaner solution, but it's still barely visible, and just I never got around to re-routing the power.
