Completely upgrade the sound experience in my 09 Tech Packae

Ive been sitting on this project for a little more than a year.

I have 2 JL C3's in the front, 2 JL C2's in the rear and a JL Audio XD400/4 as my amp for hi's and mids.

It sounds like shit. Complete shit. I know it's because of the factory head unit for the tech package.

What have you guys done in order to have top quality, aftermarket sound?

Is it tuned properly? How is it connected? I don't see how it can sound worst than original if properly set up.

Do you have the component versions? Did you setup the tweeters and the crossover at all?

Have you messed with any of the settings on the HU or on the Amp?

It doesn't look like you have any method of really tuning the sound, what are you trying to achieve (more clarity, bass, etc)

sKepz, Have you looked into signal processors? For example Rockford sells an 8 channel interactive digital signal processor. 3 sixty.3 However there have been some issues with them burning up and there is currently a 3 month back up on repairs. Something along these lines will definitely give you all the control you would need. There are a few options for how you hook it up and control it, you have a few choices.

Do you have any links regarding the issues people are having with the 3sixty.3 in their cars? I have one in the TL now. I think I would have rather went with the Alpine PXA-800.

Hifonics BRX5000.5
Precision Power PPI INT.5B
12W6v3 H.O. Wedge
2 Pairs JBL GTO608C Grand Touring Series 6-1/2" 2-way Car Component System

No issues with mines and sounds Cleaner that most systems out there. Precision Power PPI INT.5B is BOSS. Might be your signal Processor.

Did you lose the navi screen when you changed out your head unit? How about steering wheel control?

When you connected everything, did you splice in before or after the factory amps? Also, are you using high level inputs or LOCs?

When you say it sounds like shit, can you be a little more specific? Is the sound muffled or muddy? Is it flat with no highs or lows? Static? Distortion? Engine/alternator hum?
