Does this card really play a DVD on the Nav screen?

No, it can't play DVD videos on the nav screen. The system can't even read DVD video discs.
If your TL is a Tech or Advance model, it can play DVD-Audio discs through the ELS stereo system. It can also play CD's encoded in DTS.
