Buddy, your XM won't work either???? Damn...take it to the dealer and tell them to fix the radio AND the center speaker. Tell them you don't want it back until it's PERFECT. You paid too much money to have these kind of problems with a brand new car.
That XM radio should set up after 15-20 minutes. Something is definitely weird.

it's me, Alan Rickman.
Have customer service resend the activation signal [you can also do it from the xm support site I think]; did it work when you left the dealer? There should be 3 months of free service so it should already be active..

no the dealer never set it up but i left a message for them to set it up nd they apparently did but the car was in the garage at the time so i asked xm to resend signal and now its just saying loading.

I wonder if it's taking hours to load because your signal is weak.
Perhaps it would be worth parking your car in another location where it has clear line-of-sight to the satellite. This may improve signal strength and dramatically decrease download time. For example, park your car in an open air outdoor parking lot at your local shopping mall for an hour or so and go shopping. When you return to your car, you may be all set This could solve the problem quickly with the least hassle.
Just a thought...
