Mike,

You might conisder asking the dealer about it. It doesn't mean that they will take your dash apart. It could possibly be a setting that isn't right or even a fuse. It's hard to tell without you going into more detail. But don't worry about the dealership ruining your car. It's brand new...it's still under warranty. Let them take care of you...that's what they are there for.

I don't want to insult the OP but there is a volume setting in the audio set up. If he has already checked this, my apologies.

Colin,

Don't you work at an Acura dealership? Would you have any insight on the problem or any possible solutions?

Yes, and that's all the insight I can offer. We haven't received our 2009 cars yet.

No its not a volume setting. i just placed the dvd audio disk and when it goes through each speaker.. and it gets to the center.. nothing comes out excepft for a litle bass from the mids while its on the center.. so i think the center speaker s either blown or te wire fell off.. i hope this is an easy fix for them.. i wonder if they even have a new speaker already beign thats its a 2009.. do you know where the amp is for this car?

If its making some sound, the wire didn't come loose. If it's making a scratchy sound, it's probably the voice coil rubbing something and it will need to be replaced.

Mike,

Take is to your dealership and let them take car of you and the car. It's under warrenty-they'll get it fixed. I had to have my subwoofer fixed on my Type S. To do that, you have to take out the entire back seat. I felt like you and didn't want to see my car disassembled. Let them give you a loaner car and don't watch them do the work! They'll have replacement parts...don't worry. But with it being under warranty, utilize it and get your car back to new!

I don't know where it is...sorry. Hopefully, it will be a quick fix Mike. Heck, it might not be the amp. But I've got to think that the 2009 set-up for mechanical/electronic equipment couldn't be too different from year to year....even though it's a new generation of TL.

Page 289 & 290 of the manual -

Verify that the center speaker has not somehow been turned all the way down; check to see if Dolby PL II is on or off

Are you hearing any voice prompts from the car?
