Wiper blade suggestions

My car issue for new wipers. I am in SoCal so at most I sometimes get rain..

I want to get something they looks good and works well bit wasn't sure if the higher price options are really worth it.

I can always get decent replacements at costco.. But was curious what you are all running ?

OEM from Honda/Acura dealer. Just change the blade insert once or twice a year. Works well and save the environment with less waste.

I easily get a full year of use out of these before they begin to streak. And that includes winter with snow and ice. Been using them on my cars for years.

Do they make a bracketless wiper like the Bosch evolution/rain x?

Didn't even know they made wipers lol. I like rain-x myself, they make a great wiper.

Can't go wrong with OEM. Replace my inserts every year. It's like $12

I got the crosstour wiper blades because they look a lot better than 4G sticks; I also just replace the rubber wiper 1-2x a year.

Aftermarket have gotten so costly ($20+ each) I've resorted to OEM inserts ($7+ each) at each oil change.

I just replaced my blades for the first time a couple weeks ago...went with Rain-X Latitude. Very happy with them!

I'm not sure how long the ones I trashed were on there. I bought the car in Sep 2011 with 9k miles (at 47k now) and not sure if they were brand new or not.

Are you a member of one of those giant warehouse stores? Like Costco or SAMs Club? Every time I go to our local Costco they are running a special on a random wiper. One month it's Michelin, next month rain-x and so on. They sell the new wiper on average for 8 bucks. When it's Rain-x on sale I will buy 2 pair for every car I have. The Michelins actually weren't bad wipers, although they did wear out quickly.

I'm going to assume that's what I have on my TL right now, since it's a CPO and they have new blades listed. They seem to be pretty good so far, I haven't driven in heavy rain yet.

Bosch Evo on my car. Been working perfectly. I also added Aquapel coating to my windshield over the summer and it's been one of the best things I've done to my car (Honestly, works amazingly).

My issue with rain x blades.... the blade can snap off the bracket... so they look cool... but can fail. Consequently the remaining bracket can scratch your windshield. Also they chattered.

The piaa inserts for a set are $20-24...last 2 yrs...$12/yr. they do make a bracketless blade.

I have had great experience with Bosch Icon blades on my vehicles. Easily get 2+ years out of them. The rain-x blades didn't hold up as well when I tried them.

I wipe down my blades at every car wash and I am still on the OEM blades that came with the car with no sign of significant wear.

For looks alone I would go with the RainX Fusion, but I've found that the Bosch Icons tend to work better in rain and snow.

Problem with wiper blades here in South FL is the heat - it destroys them quickly. That being said I usually stick with the cheapest I can find - usually Anco's at Walmart for about $7 a blade. If I were in a more moderate climate I wouldn't hesitate though to by a more premium brand such as those that have been mentioned.

I stick to the OEM and just change them whenever I take my car in for an oil change or service. I might be changing them soon though, this winter has been too messy and I've had to start the wipers first thing with a frosted windshield a few times because I was running late. I normally never do that.

Bought my Silblades from Amazon over THREE YEARS ago. They are absolutely the best wiper I've ever installed. I wanted to see if they live up to their 5 year warranty. To this point, they are working as stated!!!!!!! Plus I live in NJ where we frequently have frost and on occassion when there is light frost, I won't use my scraper but my wipers. Paid $18 per blade and will certainly do it again!!!!!

I got 4.5 years out of the OEM then replaced them with Bosch Evolution from Wallmart. I also live in SoCal and have a 2009 SH-AWD.

I'm in SoCal too
I'm fine with the $7 Goodyear Blades at Costco.

Tip: Wipe/Clean the blades frequently (I do it almost daily, in the morning), this will help prevent the accumulated dirt/debris from sratching your windshield and degrading the rubber

if you live in an area with snow. get reflex wipers.

from my experience (and solely my personal opinion...), here's how i rate them 1-10. Cold is below freezing:
OEM - Warm 10. Cold 0. Exposed tensioners freeze and the wiper is useless in below freezing temps.
RAINX - Warm 7. Cold 6. Currently running these in my TL and ody. Both have started to streak less than 2 months in. Been 6 months now, still useable, but bad. One wiper even had an endcap fly off 2 months in.
Michellin (full reflex) - Warm 10. Cold 9. My first set was on the car for over 3 years, and they were still great when i sold my car. I don't see these at costco anymore, so they must have discontinued it with the crap below.
Michellin "Hybrids" - Warm 5. Cold 2. Started streaking one week in, and that was summer. If you look closely, these are just regular wipers with a big plastic cover on top of them to make them look like reflex blades.

Next set to be put on are Bosch Icons, which my friend swears by... we'll see.
And just to note, i regularly clean my my wipers with water/alcohol to remove the grime that gets stuck on there. That usually extends the life of wipers.
