Wallet Key Options for the TL?

My previous car was an Infiniti (2002). It came with a handy wallet key:



Have you guys seen something similar for Acura cars? I want to do the same in case I accidentally lock my keys in the car or something... Thoughts?

auto manufactures stop doing that Long ago.

I have a local locksmith that quoted me $50.00 to cut a key for this purpose. Seems pretty high but it is lower than calling a locksmith to let me in the car.

From what I've learned you can't lock your keys in a 4G accidentally or intentionally. The car won't close the trunk if the key is inside it. It let you lock the car with the engine running, nor if the key is inside and you hit the lock all button. The only way I think you can lock yourself out is if you leave the key inside and flick the door specific lock button.

I don't know about non tech/adv models, information above is regarding those models.

So basically if you lose your wallet and someone finds it you've granted them access to your car and a location where it's parked (drivers license)? lol this doesn't seem like a good idea to me at all.

Yeah I've tried and was unsuccessful at locking the keys in the car. I even left the sunroof open and locked all the doors , tossed the key in the open sunroof. Stuck my hand inside the door handle and unlocked it did. Can't speak for others but the tech package eliminates being locked out

Good points! If there's virtually no way to lock the keys in the car then I'm actually glad that I have more space in my wallet! :-P

I agree if you a Tech model, the doors will not lock if the key is in the car or trunk.
