The S5 is a nice car and I love coupes, but you're going to get hammered financially.

But hey, life is short.

Maybe wait a little longer for the refresh and 3.0T in 2011, if that is still taking place.

Damn dude, how the F did you put 35K miles on a 6 month old car? But yea, what JM said, bring some lube to the dealer so it doesn't hurt as bad when you make the swap.

What is it with the S4 and S5 talk invading the 4G forum these days?

Anyways, the S5 is totally in a different league than the TL.....performance-wise, feature-wise, price-wise. It's one heck of a sexy-car and the best-looking Audi next to a R8 in my opinion.

Heck, it's your money. Nobody here can tell you how to live your life. If you can afford it and it makes you happy, go for it.

S5? Sounds great! Spending money on a new car will help the economy and will keep people employed! May not help your bank account though...but who cares...go for it!

Yea, I smell troll again... This was the same kid who said he got a white TL, then a black TL, then 6sp, then his sig which say MBM. Plus he just posted showing off his 3G with 4G rims (which look pretty awesome by the way).

But yea, I'm thinking that 4G is his parents car...

Well, shit, I rescind my previous comment. Good luck on the S5 search, personally, I think it too big of a coupe, I'd want my coupe to be smaller, maybe you should check out the 135i. Balls to the wall fast... But different strokes.

i get paid $0.55 for every mile i drive, and thus, the same reason I am now on my 3rd TL in about 4 years

Listen, i just took my mother car shopping last week. (she is a gear-head like me) and she bought a 2010 Audi S5 Cabrio, Prestige w/ Sport differential in Electric Blue

The 2010, has the 3.0T (Guess what, its NOT turbo.. its supercharged) instead of the 4.2V8

The car is powerful, fast, sounds AMAZING, Zippy, Decent on gas, handles well....

BBUUUTT

For almost $70k... the car is NOT THAT FAST. Guess what, a 6MT SH-AWD is an equally fast... S5 Cabrio 0-60 = 5.1sec..... 6MT SH-AWD = 5.2sec

The Cabrio clocks in at, you ready for this, a WHOPPING 4,310lbs

The coupe, of course, is over 400lbs lighter, and therefor, a lot faster.. ( i believe 0-60 is 4.9sec)

Either way, i think its a BAD ASS CAR... i would take it over an E92 M3 anyday

See when you talk about cars, especially luxury cars, you don't do the $=Speed thing. For $30k u can get a 370z that does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.. are you really facepalming yourself everytime you get beat by a $30k 370z?

The S5 Cab is on a different level. Audi purposely prices their cars higher and doesn't discount as much to keep their cars exclusive. (see the bmw 3 series problem) I've driven an A5 on numerous occasions and I can tell you it COMMANDS attention everywhere it goes. People literally stop in their tracks to gawk at it. You always get what you pay for.

I was going to get an S5, but everyone I see on the road around me has the dreaded Audi electrical problems.

I was originally looking into the A5, but
a) I have previous knowlege of the electrical gremlins with this car
b) I owned an Audi Coupe Quattro when I lived in England, and have personal knowledge of the problems with the tappets
c) The Clutch throw in the A5 is absolutely rediculous ... you have to sit on top of the steering wheel in order to properly engage the clutch
d) They replaced the 3.2 with the 2.0T for 2010.
Personally, I think the A5 is one of (if not THE) sexiest cars on the road, but I think it might be worth waiting for the next itteration of this car.

And, oh ... I enjoyed the hell out of my Euro spec wrong-hand drive Quattro for the 4 years I owned it in England.

A correction for #D. They still make the 3.2 V6 for 2010. However, it's now a lot harder to order with specific packages since most of the sales now come from the 2.0T. The salesman i talked to said (but didn't confirm) the 3.2 V6 is likely to be phased out in 2011.

My gf owns an 08 3.2V6 A5 and it has been problem free except for the vibrating steering wheel at parking lot speeds and the windows occasionally squeek when they automatically roll up/down after u open/close the door.

yeah ... what I meant to say (because I only consider a manual transmission) is that they did away with the 3.2 with a stick. The only stick option is the 2.0T.

Take it from someone who has had no luck with Audi, they are great driving cars , great interiors, but still they have problems. I had an A6 2002 2.7t, it lived at the dealership weekly, I traded my MDX on a 2010 Q5, repurchased due to
transmission issues, I am now back in a 2010 MDX, it is nice to be able to hit one button to either change the station or an HVAC function, and by the way Audi dealers suck big time, all of them, independent and arrogant. Just my 2 cents.

The S5 coupe still gets the 4.2 V8 compared to the 3.0 supercharged for cabrio. I think it will be the supercharged 3.0 for both starting next year.

Supercharged V6 performs very well but 4.2 V8 sounds SICK

Not busting balls but just so you know, IRS changed that to $0.50/mile for 2010.
