Took the plunge and bought the 2011 instead of the 2012
I planned to purchase the 2012 TL SH-AWD Advance Package, based upon my understanding that 2011 insentives were going to continue. I was wrong. I cut a deal for a 2011 SH-AWD Technology package, with a black exterior and unber interior. My deal price was $37,724.

Yes I did. I planned to put $15k down to keep the payments low, and then I calculated the cost to finance and scrapped that idea. At .09% for 60 months, even a rookie listening to Jim Cramer on CNBC could produce enough returns in the market over the next 5 years to make up the financing costs. I wish I had it when I bought the ZR1. Speaking of that, the ZR1 is an absolute beast, thus my license plate "BEAST". You have to know how to drive to get behind the wheel of that car.

BTW the $2000 incentive and ).9 are good until 2/28...don't know if you need to have delivery or make the deal by then.

I doubt very much there will be 2012 incentives for some time until the get rid of their 2011s...my dealer who is one of the smaller ones has over 30 TLs still on their lot.

Well I got my Blackbird! I am blown away! The sound system is fantastic! I would say that is one of the best I have ever heard, aftermarket or otherwise. My Bang & Olufsen home theater system with the B&W dual subs are only slightly better than this. How is that possible? The imaging, depth, width, dynamic range, clarity and smoothness of the sound is absolutely on-par with a $100,000 home theater system.
The body structure is solid as oak. HUGE improvement over the 2004. I know others have complained about the volume of buttons on the dash. I say get over it!
The handling is fantastic. To compare the ZR1 to this is silly, however, when the ZR1 is set on the most compliant setting for crusing purposes, it is close to the stock handling of the 11TL SH-AWD. There is no comparison on the acceleration and braking, but other than being 18 inches higher off the groud for the driver height, the TL is simply awesome!
I have to hit the road to spend some time in this car!

usually the insentives are reserved for when they are trying to get rid of the inventory and make room for the new cars....i wouldnt expect to see any insentives on the 2012 until closer to 2013...

Will do this weekend. The ZR1 will come out of hiding next week if the weather continues to improve. It does not get wet unless I am washing it, nor do I want to drive it where there is still salt residue on the roads. We get some more rain and I will feel better about unleashing the Beast.
In November when I last drove it, on cold tires I mustered a 0-60 in 3.37 seconds, which was all in first gear. It has about 3,000 miles on it and is absolutely prestine. Not a mark on it. I doubt i will get more than 10,000 miles out of the rear tires as I can't help but act like an 18 year old when driving it. I'm still catching #@&^ from my wife for getting it, but it is my toy! Men deserve toys when we work hard damit!
As far as the Blackbird, I will wash it up again this weekend and then post some pictures. The black with umber is just a beautiful combination. What is funny is the sales manager at the dealer was actually making fun of me WHILE I was signing the forms to buy the car! He thought the interior looked stupid. I think he was a moron for potentially insulting a customer who is buying that car right in front of him. What a tool. I just smiled and said different strokes for different folks. I did take a shot back at him and said that he should get a real Rolex instead of the fake he was wearing. He looked at me as if I had three heads. What a moron.

The 2012 TL front end looks too much like the 2008 TSX I turned in last month ...but I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
