It is probably 40-50 to 1. When I got the 04 it was about 20 to 1 then the 08 it was 30-40 to 1. For reference, I looked at a 11 Camry SE I4 with 6mt and the are 500 to 1.
A 11 Camry base is 100 to 1. Acura should really expand this niche, reliable cars with manual transmissions. The TSX with a V6 and 6mt would easily sell 3000 cars a year because there is no competition in this market.

IMO it's about more folks not desiring to shift. There was a time when a manual shift provided noticeable MPG difference than an automatic, when that changed so did sales. You also have to take into account the demographics of where people who are in this market sector live. If more live in the city then they are most likely to seek an AUTO...I was at a family gathering and there had to be 30 plus cars parked where some of my folks were here in GA. They wanted to check my car out, every vehicle was AUTO...not on manual in the bunch among BMW, MB, Infiniti, Ford, Chevy...

LMAO! That is a factor too sadly....but I use the Phonelink system in my car or Blue Ant bluetooth...got to have my hands available.

i'm ashamed to say I still text, foursquare, facebook & twitter while I drive my 2010 manual trans TL....

This might be one of those catch 22's. For dealers and wholesalers, they always deduct because you can't sell a manual to just anyone, the market for it is too small. On the other hand, the right buyer will usually be willing to pay top dollar to get a rare manual transmission build because of it's limited availability.
For those reasons, it is my understanding that at the auction, and with wholesalers, a 6MT usually suffers and it's reflected in the books and reports, so owners stand to lose even more for the additional possibility that the car doesn't sell on the lot, doesn't sell well or that it's not a good lot car in the first place over an auto, and therefore that's also reflected in the private or 3rd party values of those books or reports as well.

the salesman at the dealership said that 5% of TL sales are of manual transmissions. And people that see a car online when they come in and its a manual most of the time they aren't ready for it and don't want it. On the other hand, there are people that come in and will not accept anything but a manual. But the vast majority of people out there (95%) want an automatic.

I was discussing my TL with the dealership service manager this morning, and he made a comment "we especially want to keep 6 speed owners happy as they are driving our flagships". So I ask how many of us are there, 5 or 6? He said "Not that many. Maybe 3 or 4 is all that I have seen". He went on to guess that Acura is not making the 5% of production they originally stated.
